Best pet door on the market!
This is the best non-electronic, non-motorized pet door you can buy, in my opinion! It is nothing like the rest of them out there. First, the frame is made of heavy-gauge aluminum with a nice baked white finish. The frame is quite heavy, extremely sturdy and well-made. The two flaps (I have the double flap door) are both made of pliable material that won't pinch your pet should it decide to back up once it starts going out the door (as the rigid flap doors can do). The flaps are each made of two layers with pockets of air between them for great weather insulation. Plus, it has two flaps like this, so you get great insulation against the elements! The flaps completely seal because there are magnets along the sides of the doorway. And the bottom of the door contains magnets that attract the bottom threshold. The threshold actually jumps up to adhere to the bottom of the door as it closes to completely seal it against bugs and weather. The only thing is that you should not follow the installation instructions exactly. If you use the included paper template to trace your opening, it will be much bigger than needed. I installed the included aluminum "tunnel" onto the inner frame and then held that up to my door and traced the outer edge of the tunnel. I also put a pencil in each of the screw holes and marked those on my door. I cut the main opening with a jig saw after drilling four large starter holes at each corner. This will leave the areas for the screws outside the cut area, so you will need to drill holes for them that are slightly wider than the screws. This works much better than cutting out a large opening that incorporates the screw holes and then trying to line up the long screws to match the nuts in the outside frame. Plus it gives the doors a lot more stability. If you do this correctly, the inner frame with the tunnel will fit snugly into the opening you cut. (My door is solid-core.)Once the door is installed, be sure to temporarily remove the thresholds from the bottom of the door and run a bead of the included silicone sealant along the inside of the tunnel (between the outer and inner frames) all the way around (both sides and bottom) to weatherproof the door completely. Then put the thresholds back in.My two dogs (beagle and chiweenie) were already used to going through pet doors, as we have had a single-flap cheaper door installed in our garage for years. I did take the magnet out of the bottom of the flaps and the plastic thresholds off the bottom of the door (also contain magnets) until our dogs got used to this new door. After about two weeks, once they were flying through the door without thought, I put everything back together and they are using it without problems.Yes, the door does make a somewhat loud clicking sound when it closes, as the bottom magnets pull up the thresholds. But it isn't terrible and I like hearing that sound because I know my dogs either went out or in through the door.In summary, this is an expensive door, but if you're looking for something that should give you trouble-free service for years while sealing out the elements and looking good at the same time, you won't be disappointed in this door. Just take your time and install it correctly. Highly satisfied so far.

Best quality dog door on the market
Living in northern alberta it has been very difficult to find a dog door that will stand up to our type of climate. We can have +40 in the summer and -40 in the winter. It hasn't been through the winter yet but from what I can see it should manage. If it doesn't I will change this review.

Excellent dog door
I spent weeks looking for a suitable dog door. I needed something weather-proof and durable. Installation was a little difficult (definitely need at least two people!) but we have a cheap, hollow door so the drilling wasn't difficult. But once you get it cut, just slap the two sides together and screw it in.My dog uses it all the time, and the seal is very strong and completely weatherized. He chewed a little bit on the corner of the flap, but it's pretty thick so he didn't get too much damage done. Have had it for a few months now and it's holding up quite well!

Worth the cost, still working great.

Simply THE BEST
We had a dog-flap made by the market-leading manufacturer and so I speak from experience when I say that the Endura eclipses the old one in every respect. OK, it is a lot more expensive but I believe this is money well spent. The Endura was easier to fit (lots), much more substantially built and importantly does NOT blow open in high winds (which we get regularly here on the Isle of Skye). As you'll see from the pic, we had to install it in the hole left by the previous dog flap so the flap is not in the most aesthetically pleasing situation, but on a pristine door it would look very smart.Thoroughly recommended by me AND the dog!

This thing is awesome!!!!!
OMG, I can't say how much I love this door!! I had it installed (by a friend) almost a year ago now. Installation didn't seem to be any problem for him. He followed the template and instructions and had it installed within 1-1/2 hours. So we've made it through a full Canadian summer and winter (I live an hour north of Toronto). I am gone from home 11 hours a day during the week and had to pay for someone to come let my two Labs out before I got this. It has now paid for itself. The two dogs had very different learning curves with using the door. The "dumb" boy got it right away and my "smart" girl took 8 months to realize she didn't need to ask permission to go out & then bark to be let back in. Go figure!!The magnets are very strong. I can't see a gust of wind or even sustained winds ever pushing this door open, especially with the two flap system. The only problem I experienced was when we had a direct north wind (my back yard faces north), if the dogs went out, THEN the wind would keep the door open. The wind was too strong to let the momentum of the swinging door catch the magnets. I had some really cold air blowing in a couple of times but I really don't blame the door design for that. There is a tiny amount of air that you can feel when the wind is blowing the "right" way at the very bottom of the flap in the corners. Not sure if I can adjust for that. It was not enough to have any affect on my hydro or gas bills this winter so I'm not too concerned.Be sure to clean your flaps regularly. They get pretty gunky with doggy nose slobber.I got the large size and it's plenty big enough for my Labs. It's also big enough for a determined person (or child) to get though. I would recommend using the security door if you're at all worried about that.I would recommend this product to anyone a hundred times over. It's definitely worth the money!!
