Great Expansion! Pricey, but worth it.
The Against the Giants expansion pack contains a ton of great minis. Out of the ones I bought, a few of the really cool ones are the Elder Red Dragon, a Tiefling Gladiator, and a Fire Titan. I'd definitely recommend grabbing it if you're looking for a huge mini/minis to spice up your collection.

Cool If You Can Get It
I ordered this, but never received it. I did get a full refund from the merchant without any hassle.Like the collectible card game, "Magic: The Gathering", by the parent company, Wizards of the Coast, this is a product which is manufactured for a limited time, even if the total number is not predetermined. That is what gives it a collector value. Once the manufacturing period is past, the product will slowly disappear from store inventories, and the price will go up. If you find one for the original issue price, lucky you. I did, but then it didn't arrive. Was it stolen from the mail? Or by a merchant employee? Or did the merchant realize that the going price had gone up significantly and, not wanting to openly renege on the order, just pretend to send it? Who knows?

Gorgeous Minis
A lot of the minis that one can purchase for D&D are absolutely gorgeous. There is definitely a lot of quality put into each piece and they strike quite a pose when everything is put together on a mat. This pack in particular has a few giant and huge pieces inside that would make for fun adversaries around a gaming table. As every D&D player out there can attest, having the right mini for the monster can make all the difference for the imagination.

Is the bigger the better?
First of all, sorry for my poor english, I'm from BrazilSecond: I don't play Miniatures Game, I just use the miniatures for my RPG sessions... and the players love it...This set of miniatures is very nice... but I was expecting more from the "huge" ones... I bought 4 boosters and got 2 carrion crawlers, 1 huge worg and 1 blackroot treant... and almost never I will use them in my games...The smaller are so beautiful and useful in RPG sessions that it compensate in all aspects the problem with the "huge" miniatures...I reccomend this set just for the large, medium and small miniatures... don't expect too much for the big ones...

The Good and the Bad
Let's first start out with the good about the set, which outnumbers the bad. First of all, a lot of the new minis are very good looking, especially the ones that make use of the clear plastic. Noteworthy minis include the Angel of Vengeance, the Blazing Skeleton, Doresain, the Ghoul King, the Death Titan, the Fire Titan, and others. Another good aspect of the set is that it adds epic play back into the game. The product is moderately priced, being fair in my opinion, if you buy it here or somewhere else for less than its retail price. The cards keep their fairly good layout and sharp appearance with the new epic cards being a mustard color rather than a maroon one. Its an odd choice in colors but it works. There are a lot of neat ideas in this set, many of which I hope get carried into other sets. Now on to the bad. The first bad thing is the large amount of repeats this set has. While they are slightly different, there are repeats from other sets like the Boneclaw Impaler, the Elder Red Dragon, the Xorn Ravager, a third Owlbear incarnation, another Roper, and many others. Another thing is the fact that there are no dragonborn in this set that are not rares, making players who are seeking a dragonborn mini to have to get lucky, buy many packs, or spend $$ on singles. Lastly, the paint job on a lot of the minis are terrible (Storm Giant Thunderer is abhorrent). Plastic is still lower quality than some older sets.If I could I would have given this product a 3.5, but I can't so I am giving it a 4. The product is generally solid overall, but many of the aspects of former sets that made them truly good falls short here.

D&D miniatures review Against the Giants
I haven't reviewed anything in awhile, so I decided to review this product because it has a few things worth mentioning. First of all Against the Giants is a great product for the price alone. Come on, a huge pack for under $20. You can't beat that. I also loved several of the huge miniatures like the Elder White Dragon and the Flame Titan. I have to admit, though, that I believe the Elder White Dragon is far better than the Red Dragon that is the key piece in this set. What is up with that? Another thing is that the miniatures team seems to be having some issues and I feared that the quality of this set would suffer from those issues. It didn't, but I bought it with skeptisism nonetheless. Either way, Against the Giants can be worth your money as long as you get a few pieces that you really want.

Mixed Emotions
Well it has been a while since the DDM had a huge set so it gets a couple stars for that. It doesn't rate any higher because of printing error and the fact that a good portion of the set can't be used in normal 200 point warbands.

Yay
FIRE TITAN! The figs in this set are gorgeous, and I like how the new sets have more monsters and fewer humanoids than before.

Against The Giants - hmm...
I was pretty excited when I first saw this box, as I had the original AD&D G1-3 series 'Against The Giants', so was expecting it to kind of follow that theme. There are some nice monsters in here, but I suspect the buying public would have been happier if the one Huge figure in the box had been either a giant or a dragon. I now have three titans (interesting, and the Fire Titan is a passable Fire Giant), which I think will be of limited use. The Chain Golem is also a really nice figure, but again, not that usable. Some of the smaller figures are good value, well-sculpted, but I would have liked to have seen more of a pre-ponderance of giant companion/slave figures (ogres, trolls, bugbears) rather than some of the exotic (and hence borderline useless) inclusions. The biggest disappointment was the really lazy design of some of the figures. I now have FOUR Magma Brutes, which are simply orange blobs dry-brushed with black, but the worst of all is the Blackroot Treant, which is probably the worst figure I have ever seen. It looks very little like any kind of tree and more like a giant, anorexic fly which is obviously annoyed about something. Appalling. Some of the smaller figures - the dwarves in particular - are great (as is the Dragonborn Defender...lovely pose). What I don't really understand, though, is the real lack of theming in these boxes. I think a cleverer selection process up front would make for more collectible sets and would be more logical.Given the chances of meeting not just one giant but several, it might have been nice to have two or three different Frost or Fire Giants for instance, ditto Ogres. Then people would at least know what they were buying (as we say in the UK 'does what it says on the tin'). The randomicity of this box (and some of the others) makes the system feel like a bit of a con, an attempt to squeeze as much money as possible out of us. If the choices were more logical and more closely followed the expectations of the buyers, I think people would buy more boxes. I don't mind having five or even ten Frost Giants, but who would want five Blazing Skeletons? (not the best miniature...)My advice to WotC, for what it's worth (and if they care!): better theming of these boxes, and poach a couple of designers from Games Workshop, whose plastic figs are of uniform quality design and beautifully done!So in all, not bad, but not great. Three stars, maybe 3.5
