Average to good picture, but DEFINITE solid construction
I give this product 4 stars - I had to do quite a bit of tweaking with the control buttons to get a pretty decent picture but, it works. If you want to purchase this, I highly recommend that you keep this in mind - otherwise, you'll have pictures that look faded and/or washed-out.The hardware is excellent! The stand/base snapped into place, nothing's wobbly! As a matter of fact, I've moved this monitor to 2 other places in my home since I assembled this - no problems whatsoever! I admit - my monitor is using VGA cables instead of the HDMI one that came with it (my computers use either VGA or DVI so...)Cost - could be a little cheaper, especially since it's not giving the greatest of pictures. But, like I said earlier, this works. No speakers but, then again, I have separate speakers that connect via my computer. Here's hoping that this monitor will last AT LEAST another 4-5 years! My last HP monitor barely made 6.5 years! Maybe I'm old but...I also have a competitor's monitor that still works like a charm after 14 years! Guess they just don't make things to last anymore...which is not good, considering that this could lead to lots of waste, contributing to the further destruction of our planet.

Great buy. Ease of set-up
I received this monitor, took it out of the box, and in less than 15 minutes, it was set up, and running. It could not have been easier. My laptop recognized it immediately. It took longer to unbox it, and set it up, than it took for my laptop to recognize it. I ran a check to see if I had any updates for my laptop, and an update for the monitor downloaded in 30 seconds, and that was it. I assume it was for drivers, or software, or both. At any rate, it was very fast. I read in some reports that there are no adjustments for tilt. That simply is not true. It is a friction adjustment, and you have to use some pressure to make the adjustments, but once you figure that out, it a simple procedure.I don't know how much easier it could be. It came with a HDMI cable, and all I did was connect the HDMI port on my laptop, with the HDMI port on the monitor, connect the power cord, plug that in, turn the monitor on, and immediately, I was connected. I really cannot understand the negative remarks about this monitor, unless you received a defective factory unit. In that case it is not the monitors fault, but rather a manufacturing defect. If it were possible, I would give this product more than 5 stars. If you are considering a second monitor for your laptop, don't hesitate about this one. You won't be disappointed.

Nice monitor for the price
Does not have speakers, but I did not want any; I have stand-alone speakers that are better than could be incorporated in a monitor. Has a VGA port and HDMI port. Comes with an HDMI cable (rather cheap looking, but it works), but no VGA cable. It tilts enough (about 20 degrees) to be useful for me. It does NOT come with a printed user guide, but if you go to the Customer Questions and Answers above, and search for "manual", there is a web link from HP that specifies where you can find a User Guide in PDF format. The display is nice and bright; I did not have to adjust it at all, just took it out of the box (good packaging), set it up in about 2 minutes, and used it. Satisfied overall. But Amazon likes to play with the price ... 2 weeks ago, it was 89.99, then when I bought it last week it was 84.99, now it is back up to 89.99 again. So, if you do not need it immediately, check the price over a period of days, to see if they reduce it a little.

Extra Monitor - Satisfied
I needed an extra monitor because I am working from home 4 days/week, I have no complaints about this monitor. This is very similar to the one that came with my personal computer. No speakers, but I bought stand alone speakers for my personal PC and use them to stream radio while I work. Perfect home office set up for me. My laptop from work is hooked up to this monitor. I'm not very tech savvy, and not too fussy about every little thing like pixels, etc. as some people are. I would recommend this monitor. Besides, it's an HP. How can you go wrong?

Perfect inexpensive monitor
For the price of this monitor, it does everything it needs to do perfectly. One of the pluses is that this thing has a swivel for adjusting the tilt of the screen up and down. At this price point, most monitors don't (including the two other monitors I bought a couple years ago). Not too sure about the tech specs on this monitor (e.g. color gamut, accuracy, refresh rate), but for a work monitor that does what it needs to do, this is perfectly serviceable. 5 stars.

A great monitor!
A good price for a high quality monitor. It didn't come with DVI, but it has an HDMI cable, so that was more than good enough with my video card. If you need a good monitor at a decent price, this one will do well. It's light as a feather too. Which was even more of a big deal at the time because I was recovering from abdominal surgery when it came and it took no effort to lift it. Can't be more than 10 lbs., if that much.

Terrible monitor. Me gustaría destruirlo.

funciona bastante bien
