The Treasure Tree: Helping Kids Understand Their Personality

It’s good. Little kids to college kids. No joke. It’s awesome.
Best book for kids from 2 through 20 and probably olderIt’s fun for teenagers tooIf you order it, and you have a distant irritable rude teenager that hates everything you suggest, here are a few ideas if yawanna trick your teenager into WANTING to read this.A. It’s a kids book cover and you’ll look super dorky reading it. You will immediate have his attention. Start there. You’re kid is gonna look at you weird but trust me, he will be totally curious about why your nose is in a kids book and not your phone.Teens love “learning about themselves” and their friendsThey will end up asking you questions about what they were like when they were little or may even ask YOU what you think about which character is more like him/herAnother big idea is thisDon’t tell them that they would prob really want to read it and likeit. They will decide to hate it instantly and tell you how lame you are and ask you for $50 while they have you feeling vulnerable and disappointed in yourself for raising a mean and insensitive child. .....and that’s no fun for youSo here’s the trickEither give it to a kid sibling that they view as a nemesis and an annoyance and at dinner or in the car or during a tv show or Whatever, say something to the kid sibling during the convo like “Hah. Soooo otter!Don’t explain it to the teenager. If they ask, just be chill and casual “oh- it’s just lingo from this quiz thing that tells you what your spirit animal is”OrPut a brown paper book cover over it and label it “PRIVATE” and put it in the bathroom.

Helps make good family discussions
We picked this up on a referral from a podcast and we went through it as a family and it was as advertised. It told the story with 4 friends and showed how different types of personalities aren’t bad, they all have value. This left my kids automatically saying who in the family had the different traits and it helped us pour into them & pull out their strengths. Good book, would recommend for families with pre-teen children.

A gem of a book!
A book that should be better known to the public. It was a favorite of mine growing up and now has become a favorite to the children I've read this to. It is a gem of a book! The story line is good, teaching the value of everybody's individual personality. That we can all get along and use our strengths to help each other out. The illustrations are beautiful and it will make every kid's mouth water as they imagine they are right there walking along Blueberry Basin or Peppermint Falls. This book is divided up nicely into 6 chapters, each chapter focusing in on one of the four friends personality and strengths. At the end of the book children can fill out a checklist to see which personality of the four friends they are most like. This book will delight children as you read it to them. The wording is simple enough for them to understand as you read, but will also strengthen their vocabulary. It is not mind numbing, nor filled with magic or spells, witches or villains, nor debasing humor. Pick up this book and enjoy quality time with your children!

Great book for helping children learn their personalities.
This was a cute book Its a story book with about 5 different "chapter" stories in it. It goes through about 4 different animals that are on a journey together to find the treasure tree. Each chapter talks about a different animal from the story and how their personality was a blessing to those around him/her. My kids from 3-12 each loved when I read to them from this book and was sad when it was over. The back of the book goes into further detail about different personality types. Can't wait to share this book with others!

One of the best personality tests/stories out there!
An amazing book that takes different personalities on a journey that forces them to work together for the greater good of the group. Each character represents a different personality. My seven year old read this in one setting and has read it several times already. I've personally taken Gary Smalley's personality test (for adults) and have been using it in my ministry for years to better help individuals understand themselves and others around them. One of the most accurate ones out there that look at both strengths and weakness of the personalities.

Highly recommended - Kids of any age
This is a fantastic book - recalling it from my childhood, I wanted to purchase it for my niece. Its a great story, written in chapters (perfect if the book is to long to read at bedtime), with an entertaining and fun story which teaches positive lessons. Beautiful colorful illustrations, and unique characters to introduce kids to the different personalities that people may have.Highly recommend this book for kids of any age.
