Just what I needed
I needed to block off the rear part of my driveway to keep the mail carrier from turning around in front of my garage. This works perfectly. I filled the base with water instead of sand, but either one can be used. The pole can pull out of the bottom easily if you lift it up with the base filled, but I plan on reinforcing the bar in the bottom to eliminate that issue. Otherwise, just what I needed.

Fill it with little pebbles.
Originally I fill these with water, but someone ran over the base and cracked it. Now It will not retain water. Went to Home Depot and got a bag of little pebbles for $5, fill the base with that instead. Works like a charm.
