These units are sturdy and reasonably well made. Using the same key for multiple locks in multiple applications around the house is simplicity itself. It suited my use for that purpose. However the keys rust as does the lock and the internal operation of the lock will require multiple applications of a lubricant. Not really very good for outdoor use. Will work well for indoor only use in a low humidity environment.

We needed a bunch of lock's with a common key to accommodate traveling with firearms. I was skeptical of the price, but I needed a bunch in a hurry for my son's competition. We were pleasantly surprised when they arrived. For Junior Olympics, we needed 10 locks for all of his equipment cases. These locks were the right price at the right quality for the right job. Cannot speak to outdoor use as we only use these locks indoors 4 times a year.

They are exactly what I needed. I use them on all of my rolling tool boxes for construction.

Only checked 9 out of ten so far... still good.

Using these while preparing to move. They are strong and secure.

If they are going to be used outdoors oil them well or they rust and stick making opening and closing hard to do.
