Bought a second, new outlook on cabinet
While the cabinet looks nice, there are a few issues with the one I received. The top part of the back was broken although it wasn't bad enough to warrant a return. I guess it could have happened during shipping, but the small staples they used to attach it were at the very edge, which made it easier for the wood to get separated. For this kind of money, a few of the drawers don't fit very well, and using drawer stops, while it should be a good idea, it makes getting DVDs and blu-Rays in and out far more difficult than it should be. If you're going to use drawer stops, then the drawers need to be deeper so you can get the darn discs out. The 2 drawers on the bottom work perfectly BECAUSE they don't have stops on them. The color is perfect, the idea exactly what I was looking for, but the build quality is a bit lacking.Update: Well, it's been 24 hours and the back warped to the point where I had to take it off. On the bright side, I can now get to the drawer stops to remove them so I can actually get DVDs in and out easily. As far as the back goes, I can get a new back to put on it. Again, this may just be on the cabinet I received, but for the cost, this probably wasn't worth purchasing. I'll keep it only because I can fix the problems, but I shouldn't have to fix a product that cost this much.2nd update: Bought a second one of these and this one was perfect! Back was attached correctly with much sturdier material. Build quality was excellent. Drawers fit much better this time around, no gaps in the top. The drawers also pull out much smoother. If all the cabinets they sell are like this one, I highly recommend.

Oak Media Stand
Although it is a beautiful piece, it is not solid oak as it is very light. It also is not sturdy.

Handsome and Functional - Worth the Price
I've got some good things to say about this CD rack and have been pleased with it for the past few months. It's a handsome piece and looks stately enough in our living room. We placed a few small decorations on top (a picture, a cross and a candle) and they fill the space just right. Construction is good and appears to be durable. The numerous compartments provide natural organization. If I were to be critical of it, the drawers do not have stops and we have done the obvious and dropped a block of CD's all over the floor. Doh! Luckily we didn't scratch the front of the rack during this little debacle. It makes a ruckus, though. And the individual compartments are open drawers that do not have CD holders. What this means is that the CD's rest against each other and you'll find yourself coaxing a CD out of the drawer instead of easily extracting it. There's a design trade-off though, between providing a holder-carriage for the CD's and capacity in the drawer, and I would guess the designers chose capacity. It is tall and narrow and, by nature, loses its balance when bumped. I would recommend some type of wall anchor to keep it from falling on children. That said, it is a perfectly compact design that will fit into your living room.Overall, I rate the product a solid Four Stars. It is functional, looks good, and the price appears to match the quality. There's a good distinction to be made about the critical points in this review, which is that they are design choices, not flaws. Provided you have the need for this type of product, I feel it will serve you well.

Suits my needs very well
I simply love this cabinet! I made the mistake of ordering a nearly identical storage unit, the cd144, because I only read the description and not the dimensions. That unit only holds compact discs. I returned that one and ordered the correct unit and I couldn't be more pleased. It has the perfect dimensions and look for the space I wanted it in and it helped reduce, well, hide my DVD clutter. I have 108 DVDs in it and I have no problem pulling them in and out of the drawers. When I put my blu rays in them, I could fit eleven in each drawer. It may not be top quality, but the price is equivalent to the pressboard options I found that hold just a few more items. I like the imperfect qualities. It makes me think my card catalogue has been well used. The drawers are slighly clumsy, but there are stops on the drawers to prevent them from falling out, except on the bottom two drawers. What a great complement to my compact living room!

The piece looks very nice but that beauty only goes skin deep
The product arrived fully assembled and packaged in a vertical box. It was padded on each corner with a strip of Styrofoam. Despite the description of "solid oak", my cabinet appears to be composed of thin strips of particulate. I know this because the back of the cabinet is peeling from what appears to be water damage. The underside of the cabinet did not have any padding and so the bottom two shelves are effectively destroyed. Several of the drawers have what appears to be a wooden plug insert meant to keep the drawer in place but they fell out when I opened them. The piece looks very nice but that beauty only goes skin deep. I ordered this cabinet as a filing cabinet of sorts and overall it has proven to be a poor decision. I highly suggest you find a different solution for your media or document storage needs.

Even better than expected
As a retired librarian, the look of this appealed to me. I expected there to be some pressed wood and/or cardboard pieces but I was pleasantly surprised by how similar this actually is to the old card catalogs that we had in the library at one time. This is a very nice piece and well worth the price. It is very sturdy and well made. This is all wood, even the drawer bottoms and the back are wood; no skimping on materials here. The unit is completely assembled, easily slides right out of the box and is ready for use. This, in my opinion, is more than a media rack, it's a nice piece of furniture.
