A Simply Classic Nutcracker: For Elementary to Late Elementary Pianists

I'm a piano teacher - this Margaret Goldston arr. Nutcracker suite is the gold standard choice. The pieces are late elementary, early intermediate but not too long, and it's all the pieces in the suite students love most. I tried a few other editions this year - the Lynda Robinson one, and another Hal Leonard one which were both too hard for average students. Save your time and just order this one!

I bought this for my child who is a big fan of the Disney version and really wants to learn how to play songs from the Nutcracker. I like that there is also a duet part for each song. It's a great starting point for learning all the classic songs!

This book is definitely more fit for late elementary/early intermediate students than elementary students, but the arrangements are very nice and it was exactly what I was looking for. In some of the pieces I fiddled with the arrangements a bit, for instance having students play RH an octave higher for parts of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Dance of the Reed Pipes, but for the most part I found the arrangements very tasteful.

Loved this collection for my beginner teenager. Not too simple, not too complicated. Beautiful collection!
