Blue Owl Lenormand
This is a new 2011 print version, AG Muller, with the verses in English. It's a lovely little deck. The printing is clear and crisp, card stock is good. Comes with a booklet of instructions (LWB). I am very pleased with this deck, there aren't many other Lenormands that have the English verses on.

A must for every serious reader
Every Tarot reader or fortune teller should have a Lenormand deck, these are very powerful and symbolic cards, abd have some beautiful artwork. Now, these are the cards with the rhymes but they are NOT the ones with the Playing Card inserts, be aware of this before you buy. That said, either this deck OR the Mystical Lenormand deck are very similar eanings, both aesthetically pleasing, and scarily accurate when used correctly. If you decide these are not for you, check out the other deck by all means. As far as the Blue Owl goes though, they look vintage which looks really good in your collection. Not only that but Mlle. Lenormand was a widely respected fortune teller, so visitors will probably have heard of her (she read for Napoleon among others).......... Which serves only to further add to the charm.

A nice fortune telling deck
I felt guided to purchase these cards, during a coffee reading I noticed a stalk, representing a person, with an owl, which represents wisdom,a teacher coming into your life and spiritual guidance.Later during the week I was browsing Amazon and noticed this deck-the owl being exactly the same as I saw in my cup,I'd heard of lenormand cards before but hadn't worked with any . Deciding it might have been a sign I brought them and am so glad I did! They are an attractive deck,in an old fashioned style with verses on each, which although I like they do not always seem to fit the cards meaning, and some are very full of doom, the mountain for example: The mountain retreat holds a formidable foe. To avoid defeat strike hard the first blow. From a distance is seen the start of despair; Beyond the ravine hinds a beast in his lair. The booklet is very short,a mere 15 pages with 1 spread,so I feel you really need a good book with these,'The essential lenormand 'by Rana George is fantastic, and very indepth so would be good with these.I am very impressed with the lenormand cards and feel there is alot to learn from them,so I guess my coffee reading was right.

Lovely
This is a set of 36 cards with a little painting and a playing card image on them. The little booklet is very helpful and does the job.I like this pack, much easier for divination than tarot and more pleasant in appearance. I only wish the cards were plastic to last a bit longer. The delivery and packaging by High Wold was very good.

Small cards
The cards look lovely and do have nice verse. I was only disappointed they they are so small, about half the size of a tarot card. Feel it may be useful for others considering buying them to know.

English verses useful if you do the Near and Far method.
The English verses use the near and far method but you can still use the cards to do different layouts. Not all Cartomancers use the near and far method in the Grand Tableau but the cards are nice just the same. The verses won't interfere with interpretation of the cards if you read the Grand Tableau using other methods such as diagonals, knights, houses, past/present/future and so on.

lenoramand cards
I've had these cards for about 6 months now and I think they're wonderful! The booklet that comes with the deck is useless and might as well be thrown away. But I did purchase Sylvie Steinbach's "The secrets of the lenormand oracle" book, and that has been much more helpful! These cards specifically seem to be eerily accurate for the most part. Coming from a strong tarot background, lenormand were slightly difficult to adjust to, but now, truthfully, I haven't picked up one of my tarot decks in a long time. Lenormand just make more sense, are easier to interpret and really get down into the details of a situation, unlike the relative ambiguity of your average tarot deck reading.

A most precious oracle deck!
Because it's the size of playing cards, I had hesitated to purchase the Mlle Lenormand Blue Owl Deck. But quite honestly, I've no regrets in having bought this deck. The images are good quality, and the poems remind me of the stories my mother told me as she was teaching me about the Tarot and Oracle meanings of the Tarot, back when I was a little girl at her kitchen table. The images relate to the politics and the culture of the French of that era. As soon as I saw 'the fox'(Le Renard), I knew right away I would work well with this deck. As soon as I started reading with this deck, the deck worked well with me...

Good purchase. Teeny deck...
But apparently the correct size for Lenormand cards. Please do not be mistaken, if you are looking for a tarot deck, do not buy this product expecting 78 cards because it is not tarot. it is a Lenormand oracle deck and is different from tarot - though if you enjoy and can read tarot cards then you can figure out these cards as well. Just keep in mind that they are different sets of cards. The look of the cards is quite Victorian which is certainly not surprising considering when they were first created. The deck is also very small. If this is your first introduction to Lenormand cards and you are familiar with other tarot or oracle decks, the size of the cards is very small. Smaller than a typical deck of Poker cards. The cards seem to be printed on good card stock - not too thick but not extremely flimsy either. I would say the card stock is similar to the same used a Poker deck. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are verses on the cards. There is another version of the Blue Owl Lenormand that has playing cards pictured instead of where the verses are written. I am new to learning Lenormand so having the verses there helps to remind me of the card's meaning BUT it is also quite easy for me to ignore the words when looking at the cards laid out to create an overall picture/story. There are many other versions of Lenormand decks, but I am told that the Blue Owl deck (with or without verses) is a "must have" and one of the very best to learn with if you are just venturing into the world of Lenormand cards. There are many different art styles and versions of Lenormand decks but you will have to hunt for them mainly through private creators selling them on their own sites rather than through Amazon. Those decks are usually also very limited, rare and difficult to come by.
