I bought this book as it was the text book being used by a student here in Hong Kong. It is about the best French text-book I have seen in 20 years of teaching. It is also mercifully less marred with slang or street French than other publications. Excellent

I have been using this textbook in conjunction with its workbook with my year 10 class since september. I find it just perfect. Much better than the outdated Metro 4 we were using before (but I still rely on metro for the listening as we don't have this new CD yet). I highly recommend.

This is a warning to anyone thinking of buying a single copy of this for use at home. Whilst there is certainly a lot of valuable information in this book for anyone sitting the Cambridge IGCSE exam, a significant part of the content is dependent on having access to an Audio CD which is not included, a fact not pointed out in advance. As far as I can discover, the CD is only available in the Teacher Resource companion book, the cost of which is £150. (One Hundred and Fifty pounds.) Affordable for a school perhaps, but not really for a parent just trying to help at home. This is the price charged by both Amazon and the publisher direct, so it is not an error. Strangely, although the student book is recommended by the Cambridge Examination Board, the Teacher Resource has 'not been through this process'. Perhaps someone is embarrassed.
