Impossible Cure: The Promise of Homeopathy

Read the book- AVOID the audible version at all costs!
I bought the book first but I’m so busy and got into listening to books on audible so I have both. HEED MY WARNING! Here’s my review:The good- content is suitable for an intro to homeopathy though by no means is it comprehensive. She uses her sons cure from Autism as part of selling the idea of homeopathy in this book. It is less of a book about healing ASD and more about selling homeopathy which I don’t have an opinion on either way. However if you are coming to this book from the ASD world looking for more just know it’s sooo much more about an introduction to homeopathy than ASD, topic wise. Overall the content is a good primer for those wishing to learn about homeopathy but you will definitely need to continue past this book if you wish to pursue more deeply. I liked that it references other great books in the back as her sources, personal accounts from others and medical trials and results. The bad- First issue with this is, for having a PhD she mispronounces very common words like viagra and a few other words that she should know how to say properly. I cringed at this because I expect more from someone with a PhD. My second thing is - AND I CANNOT WARN YOU STRONGLY ENOUGH ON THIS ONE - her voice is so painful to listen to. This is my 6th audible book and the only one that I found dreading turning on because of her voice. The author was either too prideful, too cheap or both and didn’t have a professional read her audio book. She did her book a huge disservice by doing so. I see other reviewers saying the same and I feel your pain, 11 hours and 46 minutes to be exact.Trust me on this one. Buy the book but DO NOT BUY THE AUDIBLE VERSION UNLESS YOU ENJOY TORTURE.

A perfect gift!
I recently bought this book to educate myself on homeopathy while my 5 year old twin boys were under a well known homeopath's care in Chicago. I've known homeopathy all my life - having spent 20 years of my life in India. This book explained homeopathy in a way I'd never known - even though we used it with everyday illnesses successfully all our lives. This book covers it all and has something in it for someone who doesn't know "h" of homeopathy to a seasoned homeopath. I mentioned to our homeopath who's been practicising homeopathy for over 20 years and also happens to be an MD - that I was in the midst of reading Amy Lansky's book - during our appointment. He pointed to his bookshelf where he had his own copy of the same book and smiled. My father was recently visiting us and saw me reading this book. My grandfather used to be a self-trained homeopath with quite a few materia-medicas and used to treat acute cases in the neighborhood as a hobby in the mid 1900s. My dad was quite impressed with this book - he read it from cover to cover.I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in homeopathy. I highly recommend homeopathy itself. I find myself promoting it every chance I get. This book would be a perfect gift for someone who you might think would benefit from homeopathy - and trust me there's not a single person out there - who would not benefit from it- special needs or not! More people need to know about homeopathy - it is the better way to heal. My dream for the future is for homeopathy to be recognized enough that it's covered through insurance so more people are able to benefit from it. I highly recommend buying this book for yourself and others as well, especially if you know a special needs parent - this book is a really good introduction to homeopathy.

The Best on Explaining Homeopathy
I stumbled upon Amy Lansky's website while researching treatments for my own son's autistic symptoms. We had seen dramatic improvements in my son after beginning homeopathic treatments with a gifted, classical homeopath and I was researching to learn more. Though I had been researching since we began our journey to cure our son for a little over a year, I had not yet been able to find any concrete information regarding the practice of homeopathy - how it worked, why it worked, etc. - in straightforward, interesting, and applicable terms. Lansky's book, Impossible Cure, fills this void.Although we had little experience with "alternative" medicine and none with homeopathy, we were willing to try anything to halt the headbanging, stimming, and unsettling behavior my then 18 month old son repeated day after day. We saw almost immediate improvement with the first dose of remedy. In the past year and a half my son has gone from a toddler who did not speak, play, or interact much to a happy, sweet, loving, typical 32 month old who by all means is normal - talks, laughs, plays, and tests out at or above his age on all developmental tests. People meeting him for the first time can not believe he was ever on the spectrum. While we have done many interventions on behalf of our son, it is clear to us through our documentation that homeopathy has had one of the most dramatic impacts.Lansky's book played a pivotal role in my son's continuing success. Although homeopathy had dramatic results for my son very quickly, I wanted even faster results. I read the book at a time when I was losing patience and ready to give up on the homeopathy and move on to more dramatic treatments. The Impossible Cure helped me understand the history of homeopathy, how a remedy is created, why it works, and reinforced its legitimacy as a proven treatment option. Of the many medical texts, personal accounts, and research I have read in the past year, this book stands out as integral to my son's recovery.Impossible Cure is not a "treating autism" book but rather a comprehensive yet quick-read guide to understanding the "science" of homeopathy. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for validation and explanation of this miraculous treatment option.

Excellent
This book is the one written for those who have read about and dabbled in homeopathy. The thinking and prose are the next step forward in the homeopathic journey. Very well written and easily read.

Excelente
