My cat forms struvite stones which block the urethra. Modern animal food turns urine alkaline whereas it should be acid. These treats, with cranberry which contains ascorbic acid, help return the acidity in the urine to normal. Used in conjunction with royal canin or hills s/d formula food, I have had no problems with my cat for 18 months. He loves his "sweeties" of which he gets some 20 per day. A far nicer and cheaper option than being in the vets, being catheterised!
