Charlie the Ranch Dog: Charlie's New Friend (I Can Read Level 1)

A very cute story. Good for sight words, if you look for that in a good book

My grand daughter and myself share this story together. What is good about this book is that a young child (gr 1-2) can read this book mostly by themselves or to an adult. This is a big step for the child to be able to read a story which is fun. The beagle dog and his adventures are part of a series of stories. The text has a controlled vocabulary which is easier for young readers to handle than most story books. I recommend the 'I Can Read' series for any parent or grandparent who wants to help the young reader gain practice reading aloud at home.

My daughter loves Ree and she was delighted to find a Charlie book in her Easter basket. Story is super cute, makes my 6 year old laugh.

I chose the rating for this book because my grandson demanded it. He is 4 years old and he knows a good book when he sees it. He loves all things animal and Ree Drummond brings the animals on their ranch to life. It's an amazing book with wonderful pictures. I think it will be a hit at your house with your children or grandchildren. Recommend!

Grandson like his dog book for Christmas

What a cute story. Planning on buying the rest of the series. Have seen Ree on the cooking shows and did not realize she writes books. Great pictures and easy for toddler to understand. We all love Charlie.

We love charlie the ranch dog books! This one is not our favorite as the story line at the end is a little odd. But otherwise cute book

I love basset hounds and reading. Her books are so entertaining and educational for young children and adults. The pictures are fabulous as well. I have ordered every book that Ree Drummond has written and can't wait to share them with my grandchildren.

Anything this woman does is genius. The children's books are educational and her cookery books are too. Go Ree. Your ace.

Cute story.

It is a colourful and well illustrated book, but expensive for what it is. So thin when It was delivered in cardboard envelope didn't think there was anything in it. Having said that I think children will enjoy it. Would have given five stars if it had been a bigger book.
