Colt Knives 393 Tactical Gear Vest with Black Nylon Mesh Construction & Detachable Holster

Was really surprised when received vest. Mesh makes it super light and breathable for hot days! Plenty of pouches for storage. Straps and velcro are good quality. Although holster does need support when loaded, but is velcro and can tilt or change angle. Im 5'8 150 medium size frame, top is wide and can be adjusted along with sides! Im used to zipper being on right side but it is on left, this is a minor issue. I would recommend this vest for moderate use or those in hot summer regions. Will update status after I use on a few trips this spring!

Bought during the height of the last 'World' scare and was prepared to make modifications based on another review I read. Used a lighter to burn/melt extra threads and took needle/thread to the protruding portion of the holster to tack it into a better position. End result is clean and serviceable. I like it!

i would not get this item. the detachable holster sags when a gun is in there and makes an awkward feel. the top of the vest does not fit well.. the chest part is very big kinda feels like it was made for a woman with a big bust.

I use this vest for airsoft and its great! It's light and comfortable to wear for long periods of time and plenty of pouches.

There are other vests here on Amazon that are identical to this one, except for the name and the price. This one needs a slight modification, but it will save you at least $20.00. In fact the others may need the same mod, I don't know for sure because I don't own any others, but they sure do look the same. Anyhow as stated in the review before mine, the holster does lean forward when there is a pistol holstered, however there's a relatively easy fix that only takes about 10-15 minutes of your time. The reason the holster leans forward is because the holster is not stiched far enough up the strap. For some reason they stopped stiching the strap to the holster about an inch too short. Grab a needle and some black thread and sew the strap all the way to the edge of the holster (where the pistol enters the holster) and the problem is fixed. Don't worry if you can't sew, I couldn't either, I googled it and 15 minutes later I was done. It looks great, it holsters great and no one would know that I had to modify it. Well worth the savings if you ask me. The other complaint the reviewer prior to me had was that the top part of the vest felt like it was made for a big breasted woman (lol) and he's right, sort of. I'm assuming he didn't notice that the shoulders have large velcro straps on them that can be adjusted. Just pull them towards your back, the top of the vest may fold slightly, but don't worry you won't even notice it (this will vary depending on build). After adjusting the shoulders the vest fits snug and is very comfortable. Bottom line, there is an issue with the holster and if you're not up to taking a needle and thread to it in order to save $20-$50, I would not recommend this vest. If you don't mind taking the time to do it, it's well worth the price. Now I'm sewing buttons back on shirts and pants that I haven't worn in months.

My girlfriend ordered this vest for my birthday from Smoky Mountain Knife Works. She paid an extra $5 to have it by my birthday. Well it got here the day after. I was still excited to see the package on my porch when I got home from work. After adjusting the straps to fit I was happy until I tried to put my 1911 in the holster. I had to force it in and it would still not go all the way in. The buckle was stretched to the end and still hard to fasten. Even after adjusting the velcro and straps it still leaned away from my body. You put the name Colt on it you expect quality and at least fit for a 1911. My Ruger 9mm also wouldnt fit. I know it was only $36.99 but that shows you get what you pay for. Another customer sewed thier vest but that takes away from an adjustable holster. Returning tomorrow.
