The Church's Brogue of the Slipper World!
I have no idea what my partner does to his slippers but they are on borrowed time from the moment he opens the box. In fact, for years I have endured a yearly quest to source the slippers that would survive a single season in his possession, only to see them flapping, gaping and tattered within a few months of thinking I'd cracked it. Enter Padders! These are the Church's Brogue of the slipper world in my opinion and are so far doing a sterling job of not simply tolerating - but defying - my other half's abusive use of indoor footwear. These are a nice thick corduroy with really well-constructed soles and, whilst still well-padded and soft, seem slightly heavier and more substantial than most slippers. He is cock-a-hoop with them and so am I, having now finally found something that can withstand him!

Well made comfortable slippers but with size issues
Padders Men's Albert Low-Top Slip On, Black, 11 UK (45 EU) I have always worn Padders slippers in the past as I've found them very comfortable and well made. Sadly with this latest order I found the slippers to be much too large for the given size. The build quality still seems quite good but the sizes do seem to be all over the place. The outer sole is a nice soft rubber which does seem quite durable, although they are definitely only indoor slippers, keep popping outside with them & they wont last long but in the house - no problem. The top of the slipper is soft & comfortable, the stitching seems good too. The inner sole inside the slipper is stitched around the edge so hopefully there should be no issues of the inner sole moving as is the case in many other brands of slipper. I was rather disappointed to find that they now use memory foam on the inner sole of the slippers, I have never been a fan of memory foam insoles as it always feels as if my socks are crumpled up thus feeling rather uncomfortable. As mentioned above I had to return these slippers as they were way too big for the given size, I tried ordering the next size down but those were too tight on the right foot. I still feel these are decent quality slippers but they do need to sort those sizes out hence only 4 stars given and not 5. The other issue I had with them was the logo embossed on the slippers seems to have distorted the sides of the slippers making the sides a little lumpy and uncomfortable, although that will probably correct itself when worn over time.If you purchase these slippers I would suggest going a half size down if possible, a full size down didn't work for me. That being said I would still recommend these as they are still a well made comfortable slipper in my opinion. If you manage to get a pair that fit they should remain comfortable throughout their lifespan as that has been my past experience with this brand. If you found my review helpful please click 'Yes' below, thank you.

Really Wide Fitting!
The listing states that these are a wide fitting - and they really mean it. It's a UK 'G' width, and having read the reviews suggesting I get a size smaller than normal, I did exactly that, and they are still a sloppy fit on my above-average-width feet. Some people might find that OK for slippers, but I prefer not sliding around inside my footwear. Having a tighter 'base' fit and more stretchy elastic would have been preferred.Other than that, they seem well constructed and have a decent lining, and importantly to me they have a white sole - so no black marks on the lino in the kitchen.Overall an OK slipper, but the issues with fit mean I can't give them a strong recommendation unless you have feet like beachballs, or just like a loose fitting shoe.

Not cheap - but worth it..
Most of the major retailers, including M&S, have now stopped sticking wide-fit slippers, both online and in stores.Beware of what some stores class as wide-fit - My dad couldn't get them on.BUT... these are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC for him. Comfortable, easy to put on (important for him, as he has limited mobility) and just wide enough to fit comfortably without feeling loose.Very happy - will definitely buy this brand again when needed.

Worn out after about 18 months
Bought these slippers in May 2019 and they have only been used in my house. The soles are very worn and the body seems to have expanded so that they are now very loose fitting and often slip off while walking and on occasion, have caused me to trip. I always believed that 'Padders' were a trusted product but will never buy any of them again.I expected a pair of supposed good quality slippers to last more than 18 months - especially when on used in the home.....

Exactly what I was looking for
I wanted a decent pair of quality traditional slippers and that's exactly what they are! I'm fed up of slippers that clip and clop around! Since wearing these his feet are less sore, swell less and his walking has actually improved- less shuffle-y! Would definitely recommend. Normally a 10 to ten and a half, tried the 10 wide and they fit brilliantly.

Comfortable slippers
I find with shoes that I'm usually a size 10, but very occasionally a size 9 because sizes differ slightly from one manufacturer to another. With Padders slippers I find it's best to have size 9. They're ever so slightly a tight fitting (but perfectly OK) but they will soon loosen up because of the soft nature of the material, and then they will be perfect. That's what I've found in the past, at least, with these types of slippers (especially Padders). So if you're not sure which size to get, go with the smaller size. They're nice, soft, comfortable slippers and their deep sides mean they don't slip off - the last thing you want when you're running up and down stairs as I do. In the past, they have lasted well enough, too.
