Happy Traveler!
I carried this backpack at my carry on for my trip cross country via airplane and it fit no problem in the overhead bin. I loved the top compartment - it was my most accessed pocket easily, I put my keys, headphones, wallet, two different chargers, iPod and boarding pass in them and there was plenty of room for more items. It has two side pockets- I placed my 20oz water bottle in it with ease and a pair of shorts in the other. I loved the mesh pouch in the front of the pack- I put two books for easy access there. I bought this pack because it fits a 3L hydration pack in it, I am excited to try that out. The book bag unfolded from a small pouch. I love the orange color, it matches my hiking boots and helps me be seen easily in public spaces when I am meeting up with people. The straps are surprisingly comfortable and I had no problem hiking around New York City with this pack. I would definitely recommend this inexpensive book bag for hikers and travelers! I'll be using it in my hiking trip to Yosemite at the end of the month!**Update: Used this backpack for two camping trips so far and I found it to be not too hard on my shoulders. I was a bit worries because the shoulder straps aren't padded but they are thin enough where it can be easily adjusted.I love the side pockets- they're great for easy access to things like a selfie stick or cell phone.

I have mixed feelings about this pack - stitching of the loop at the top and one shoulder strap started to fray.
I have mixed feelings about this pack. It's small and compact so as a haversack or bug out bag it traveled or worked well. Because it does not have a frame the contents need to be limited in weight or the straps will start to cut your shoulders. I saw a video where someone inserted some foam padding into a similar model. It should still fold nicely. My big complaint is the stitching of the loop at the top and one shoulder strap started to fray after just 8 days. The loop is not a stress point so it's a manufacturing issue.

Added hip strap would be the icing on the cake for this pack
This pack is awesome for a day hike, especially when rock scrambling is involved. I got it because my pack is just too heavy for rock scrambling. More then enough room for day essentials, more then enough compartments. I technically, would've given it 4.5 stars, because there isn't any hipstrap. Towards the end of a strenuous day hike, my back started to ache. All I had packed for the day was 2 bottles of water, 2 granola bars, 2 pieces of fruit, my phone, hiking gloves, knee brace (just in case), ace wrap (just in case), wallet, & car keys. Minimal stuff, because I was with a group & a leader. I'm 5' 6", approx 125 lbs- female. BUT for $20 Bucks, you can't go wrong! Then, I used my AMAZON credit card pts, so it literally cost me $5 bucks!!

Best pack I've ever owned! Super light weight.
Just got back from my first hike with this...It's GREAT! It's SOOO light weight. Seems VERY durable. I love all the pockets - especially how deep the side water bottle pockets are. I would highly recommend it to anyone! I love how it looks too - very well-made pack. It was comfortable to wear, as well. My hubby is going to buy one now, too - guess he got jealous. My only complaint is that there's so many color options I had a hard time deciding. (I'll be sure to adjust this review if I have any problems down the line.)

Actually Water Resistant!
Very satisfied!...for now. I am a pretty avid day hiker and after a long and hard search I settled on this day pack. It came in on Wednesday and I went on a weeknd hike that same week. The backpack performed very well. It was very wet and rainy the first day of the hike so I thought it'd be a great test run for it's waterproofing. I placed a pack of gum in the zip pocket under the top flap (yes, there is a zip pocket on the top and underside of the top flap which I really like) and after about a 10 hour day of hiking in the rain, that pack of gum was barely damp to the touch. The straps feel great, the backpack is very light and easy to stuff and go. Plenty of storage space, including a spot for your camelbak bladder. Great pack! I am excited to see how it stands the test of time.

Great pack for the price!
My son and I went backpacking last weekend. He used this backpack and packed light. He loved it and was jealous since my full size pack was much heavier. This is a great little pack for kids or for a day trip. My only suggestion would be more padding on the straps. Other than that, it was perfect! Even with that, great little pack.

Lightweight
Lightway and easily packable. I use it whenever additional backpack is required.

Cute, useful, cheap
Very lightweight and folds up small-perfect to tuck in your suitcase for daytripping on your vacay, but don't expect to carry much weight--the shoulder straps are not padded and the straps and accessory loops come unstitched under stress.
