This item is not cheap, and thus why I held off buying preserve for ....awhile. ONE, it is sturdy handle that comes with ONE refillable razor (five blades in one - not one blade with five refills despite one sad reviewer that seemed confused). Personally, I have used other companies that attempt to create razors that are not owned by companies that test on animals. They were not even as lofty as Preserve's creation. Personally, I have no interest in buying from a major company that I know tests on animals, but it's been tough finding a good razor. So when I bought this item, I held off until I used it before writing this review. I am happy. Pleased. A great little investment. Honestly, I am relieved. Unlike other vegan razor companies (sorry for the shade), the actual blades did not rust. The lubrication strip did not fade after one or two uses, it's long lasting. It's a good product, and not in the sense of "good for vegan" - it's well made. Good for the earth, as well. This was a good buy.

I LOVE the Preserve razor! I was getting terrible rashes on my legs after shaving, and it turns out that I'm allergic to the nickel that's in conventional razors. Now my rash and itching is gone.When I first tried Preserve razors years ago, I didn't like them, but they've made amazing improvements to their design. Now they are more stable than Venus and other conventional women's razors I've tried in the past.I love that they're eco-friendly, which is also why I use and love the Preserve toothbrushes - plus they're BPA free. All good!

I like that the razor is slim and doesn’t have a huge handle. I also like that there isn’t a giant moisturizing block surrounding the blade. I love the recycled materials part. But...as others have stated they do rust quickly. I’ve used it for two weeks and just put on my third blade. So am I now defeating the purpose by throwing away used blades more frequently?

These razors are great! I feel good knowing they haven't been tested on animals and actually work! Most razors the first time you use them give you little cuts but this razor glided so nicely even over the knees and ankles no cuts and took all the hair off

I bought these for my daughter and first I thought 5 blade meant it came with 4 refills, wrong, one 5 blade cartridge. fine, my mistake. But after one use and two days the blades were super rusted. Maybe that's also our fault but most razors available now don't do that. I did find however that the handle fits another more easily available and less likely to rust brand so we're still using the handle.

Since changing over to cruelty free and non toxic beauty items, I also wanted to get an eco friendly razor. This razor is very flimsy and as other reviews stated every time this fell in the shower the razor head popped off. Also this product gave me serious razor burn. I ended up returning it. I'm still on the hunt for a eco friendly and cruelty free razor

I bought these razors because of their eco-friendly production, but sadly they don't hold up very well. First of all, the lubricating strip (although great on the first use) expands outward after getting wet and consequently creates an unreachable gap between your skin and the razor at the top. Secondly (and this is most important) these razor blades RUST--big time. I haven't been able to use these replacement cartridges more than a couple times, which causes you to go through them VERY quickly and gets really expensive.

Im thrilled that it is eco friendly. I'm very unhappy that the razor blades have some kind of moisturizering goo strip on them. I have very sensitive skin and get contact dermatitis/ eczerma very easily. The gooey moisture strips have now caused horrible itchy eczema in some very sensitive areas. I've tried removing the moisture strips from the blades, but it seems impossible. Also, as a very sensitive skin sufferer I need a single or at the most double blade razor. Running one blade across my skin is enough to cause razor burn and irritation, two is pushing it. This has five blades which is a nightmare. When I read the description, I thought that five blades meant it came with five replacement blades.

I bought this razor specifically because it's vegan/cruelty-free (the moisture bar) and it's made of recycled plastic. It still isn't as great as a completely zero-waste razor (in terms of waste) but I've heard too many horror stories with those to give it a try right now. This is an awesome compromise! The 5 blade one is WAY better than the 3 blade one - don't buy the 3 blade to save money - it feels WAY cheaper and doesn't give a good shave, at all. This one is great! Would definitely recommend.

So happy to see vegan and cruelty free razors on the market (finally). Although in comparison to other razors which are not cruelty free this one has a long way to come especially in terms of blade quality. I find the blades are a bit too dull and you don’t get a close shave although, I’m happy that an option for cruelty free razors exists, just wish it was better quality!

OKay so I REALLY wanted to give this 5 stars because the razor blades themselves are fantastic. However, the first time I went to change the blade it broke. I pushed lightly on the button to release the blade and a piece just fell off! It won't accept the new blade securely now so it's unusable. Very disappointed.

recycled, vegan, cruelty free - check, check, check. No nicks, no razor burn, just a nice shave. Not as close a shave as my previous (not vegan, not cruelty free, not recycled venus) razor. But completely acceptable shave!

I LOVE THIS RAZOR!! I was looking for cruelty free razors and took my chance on this 1. I am so happy that I did. The handle is made out of recycled yogurt container and it’s so comfortable in your hand. My daughter used it and loved it too. I’m buying her one for her stocking this Christmas and I may buy the boys each 1 too!

This product is lightweight, which can be good, but in this case only indicates poor quality. The blade performance was the most disappointing part as it took 3 passes to do something done very well with razors from every man jack. To bad Amazon stopped carrying them last month.

This is the most amazing razor I have EVER used. I purchase this razor because it was vegan but even if all the companies went vegan I would buy this one. LOVE IT !!!!!!!

I have a nickel allergy that's in most stainless steel. These coated blades are perfect.
