New York Puzzle Company - New Yorker Off The Leash - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle for Adults by Mark Ulriksen

Since this was a Christmas gift I knew they liked the New York puzzles with1,000 pieces or higher. In addition, themes involving animals is a bonus. My experience has always been that these New York puzzles are well made and well cut for proper fitting.

A dog park takes on new meaning in this whimsical New Yorker cover from July 2017. Puppies frolic on a playground as the big dogs enjoy some bark-free time together. Dogs are a familiar character in Mark Ulriksen’s art, but usually as companions to humans. In this scene, though, he gives the dog days of summer a different spin allowing the anthropomorphic pooches to appropriate the language to their purposes. Even his title, “Off the Leash,” hints at some serious tongue-in-cheek fun.Our family enjoys building puzzles that tell a story. The New Yorker cover puzzles do not disappoint. This was an easy build despite its 1000-piece size. A puzzle-building romp, and a 5-star purchase.

This is not the easiest puzzle I have ever worked, but it is well worth the time. I intend to frame this (and others with same motif) to use in my spare study.

Fun puzzle but three interlocking pieces are missing. So anticlimactic for a puzzle lover. Bummer.
