Kingdel® Fanless Mini Computer, Nettop with Intel i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, 64GB SSD+500GB HDD, 2*HD, 2*NICs, SPDIF, 4*USB3.0, Wi-Fi, Metal Case

I held off writing a review for this item because to be honest it seemed too good to be true. Lightening fast and with everything I wanted including eight USB ports. I use it in my recording studio where it is perfect due to being totally silent. I was concerned that it would overheat having no fan but that has not happened in the year I have been using it. I was also concerned that I had no idea what was inside it but it turns out it hasn't mattered because it has been faultless and I use driver easy software to keep drivers up to date.The only thing problem was I ordered one with 128 gig hard drive which is hopelessly small for music production. Just one VST set I ecently bought was 80 gigs by itself. If you use it for music you need a minimum of 500 gig which I bought and had no problem fitting. However I did find I had to remove the old drive to get it to work properly although if I had persevered I am sure I would have got them both living together.

They are fast, compact and quiet. I have been using the first one for three months without any problems. This one also gets my recommendation and 5*. Both computers arrived from Hongkong in one week. There is tax/duty to pay. The first, via DHL, required £19 prior to delivery. The second, via FedEx, required £20.58 after delivery. Both were paid promptly by Kingdel.I chose these models (5th generation or earlier) because 8 usb sockets were not available in the 7th generation model. Functionality trumps a small performance increase.Windows 10 Pro is installed under a bulk licence, so no product key is available – nor is it necessary. The PC booted up quickly. Office 2007 was available to install, but I did not need it.An HDMI cable was provided. This works well with my HD TV (1920x1080). The TV connection is so good that, with the small PC box, no extra audio cable and the remote keyboard, it is almost not worth having a separate PC desk!I use a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. A tip here: do not use one of the forward facing usb3 sockets because the mouse jumps due to electrical interference – a problem not related to this PC. Use a rear facing usb2 socket with a short usb extension cable. Another tip: if you want to awaken the PC from sleep with a keyboard key (a quick prod on the power button will awaken it), you need to change a setting in the BIOS that keeps it from deep sleep – Sleep Mode Level S3 to S1 on the ACPI settings (you can choose to leave the choice to Windows). By the way, on boot up, Del enters the BIOS and F11 chooses boot device.I added an old 128Gb Sata SSD. This easily screws onto the removable panel at the bottom of the case and connects with two cables that Kingdel provides. This panel can be turned round to avoid thicker drives fouling the connectors on the motherboard. I may add an mSata later as I did with my first Kingdel.My first Kingdel is no longer listed so I will mention my experiences here as they will also apply. My preference is for Windows 7, so I have included it with LinuxMint 18.3 on a triple boot. All OS’s run OK. Windows 7 had to be installed with the SSD holding the Windows 10 installation removed and then imaged over to a partition on the Windows 10 disk afterwards. As things are going well so far, I have replaced my old desktop PC with this Kingdel and transferred its 1Tb SSD Sata across, so now it totals 2.5Tb - fully loaded!In operation, when transferring lots of data, the metal case became quiet warm, but not hot.

Excellent computer when working. Mine had a fault from day one though. Although the warranty had expired, Support promised to repair my computer if I sent it back. I did and I haven't heard from them in 3 months. They no longer reply to my emails and it seems, just stole the computer back again.

16GB RAM 512GB SSD 1TB HDD -- this is the third one of these machines I've bought. They're great little computers that come as advertised and are suited to media centres, firewall appliances, digital signage controllers, or just desktops/servers. They are indeed totally silent. I've built a home lab out of them as I'm in the IT profession.They perform well, and a virus scan of the pre-installed Windows 10 image shows it as clean.

I was waiting a little while before writing this review to make sure all was ok and indeed it is! It's a great little computer, incredibly fast - in fact we ran a benchmark and it's 2 x as fast as my existing i7 that I use at work. It comes with Windows 10 which worked fine but I quickly wiped that for Ubuntu which runs very fast. It plays 4k videos absolutely fine - I was getting some screen tearing but actually this was a setting in Ubuntu and that's now fixed and 4k video looks perfect. I put the machine under a lot of load syncing 200GB in Dropbox and the aluminium case did get fairly hot but not so hot you couldn't hold your hand on it and that is its job as a heatsink so all good there too. Having had the computer over a month I'm very happy with it and love using it, and I'm very happy that it is 100% silent so I can actually hear myself think. So far so good, great product, buy one!

This seems and excellent mini pc with many advantages over a conventional PC. It is simple to boot up when connected and the operating system and software are as advertised. Delivery information was very variable and confused with almost no support from the supplier. £20 unexpected import tax had to be funded and they simply told me to contact the carrier if I wanted delivery information. Not a single word is included about the spec of the unit nor its installation or operation so don't buy if you are not computer conversant. Result: Buy the kit but not from this supplier !

The item was delivered a day earlier than estimated. It was well packaged and did not rattle like some deliveries. To my surprise it came with a HDMI lead as well as the usual accessories of power supply, stand etc so I need not have spent 20 minutes in the loft looking for a HDMI lead! This mini PC is seriously well built, housed in a very sturdy metal case with 'ribs' to increase the surface area for heat loss. It booted up into Windows 10 with no problems. For the price this is a high quality item and the service from the suppliers is five star. If it had a high speed eSATA port which I could connect an external drive bay to I would seriously consider buying a higher spec model to supplement/replace my noisy home built full tower. It has 8 USB ports which should be plenty for most people. There was no 'manuel' or documentation which would be helpful but not a problem.
