Does what its supposed to!! Great product :)
It can be very very difficult to find a powered USB hub that actually works properly and allows you to connect many usb devices that all show up on windows and work properly. There is no universal guide it seems to info about what type of hub fits what you need, of course some will work better than others. But after having bout a cheaper usb hub that just didnt work properly and would only show some devices and hdds and then dissapear. I guess it wasnt powered enough which is why it would keep turning off. But this Amazonbasic hub is awesome, Ive only had to for a day but its working without any issues and i have connected about 8 external hdds, of which 3 are unpowered external drives, but all drives show up and work which is absolutely great. I was abit concerned about it being a non branded product as such, but Amazonbasics has won my faith and trust. I really recommend this product as i think its fairly priced and it does what it is meant too. Well done Amazon!

It works!
I know that “it works” is not the most exciting endorsement, but there’s nothing exciting about a USB 3.1 hub. It just needs to work, and this one does. I’ve returned two others in the last two weeks. They were dismal. I was mostly plagued with intermittent connectivity, which can be catastrophic to a hard drive trying to render 4K video. One of the hubs I returned had separate on/off buttons for each USB port, which seemed harmless enough at first, until I realized that even when I shut my computer down, all my USB peripherals stayed on indefinitely. Rather than wasting power and promoting wear and tear to my many devices, I opted to turn each of the 7 buttons on and off whenever used or shutdown my laptop. Even though that was way too much work, I might have just lived with the inconvenience, until 5 of the 7 ports just stopped working all together. Enter AmazonBasics. This one just works, without me having to do anything other than opening my laptop. Currently I have 3 high speed hard drives attached, 1 USB 3.1 card reader, a 24 bit/192 khz audio interface, a MIDI keyboard, and a high speed WIFI 802.11 ac adapter. Even with all that, I still have the 3 charging ports available, which will hopefully work as well for data as the first 7 ports. I would strongly recommend this particular hub and perhaps I can save someone the hassle of having to return multiple products.

Quite Good, So Far
Price was right and "Amazon backed" makes it even better from a warranty standpoint. I did not need the 3 ports of charging capability and wished all 10 ports were able to run USB connected devices but having 7 ports for USB devices is not that bad. I don't remove peripheral USB devices all that often so I have not experience any issues with bad or failing connection in the hub itself but only time will tell. The length of the USB connector cord to the computer is good and so is the cord length of the external power supply.I would rate this a 5 right now except I want to see how the connections sockets hold up.

The power ports also are data ports
This product works as expected and was simple to install. it provides a substantial amount of power to the three charging USB slots (though my tablet still declares it is connected to a low power charger, it charges lickety split compared to what I had before). And I was pleased to see that all 10 slots are working USB data slots. From the description, I thought perhaps the three 'charging' slots were charge only. Admittedly, I only have five things plugged in at the moment, so perhaps it is fooling me, but I haven't found any slots that failed to xfer data :-)

Best Hub I ever used.
I saw some negative reviews but said what the heck, if it doesn't work, send it back. I will list what I have plugged into it.Epson PrinterEpson ScannerLG Dvd/blueray burner2 Seagate 8tb drives1 Seagate 4tb portable driveLogitech Wireless mouse recieverM-Audio Fast Track Pro USBM-Audio Multi Track llEverything works and functions perfectly. I also keep my tablet in 1 of the charging parts which I can access on the laptop. The printer, scanner and tablet are in the first 3 ports and all the rest have the others.People who say they junked it, you can return it or I will give you half price for it. I can bet there is human error or your laptop is not up to date on drivers. And if you are not using a device the lights go off until you use the device. I am using a 4 year old toshiba laptop that was upgraded to win 10. I recommend it!

Fire Hazard Warning
So let me start by saying I normally love “Amazon Basics” products. This one would be no exception but for it’s unfortunate potential to burn down my house. I received my package and immediately set it up to transfer data to 10 flash drives. Halfway through the download 2 of the drives went offline. I saw no outward indications of damage so I did not think to touch them or I would have noticed the intense heat. I continued the data transfer of the remaining 8. Upon completion I went to remove them from the hub and that is when I realized the unit had become so hot it could barely be touched. The individual drives were like hot coals. I immediately unplugged everything and moved it all to a cool surface. After cooling I was able to do a closer inspection and noticed that 3 (the PNY’s) of the drives had melted from the heat. And while the remaining 7 (Sandisk) did not melt they had certainly been hot enough for a potential melt down. To be fair of the drives that made it all of the data transferred perfectly. So while I guess it could be said the unit does what it promises, offering a simultaneous data transfer, it comes at a scary price. I do not know if the unit would heat up like this if it was just used as a plug in port rather than for data transfer but I would certainly not recommend leaving this thing unattended and for sure would not use it and leave my house. Perhaps a cooling mat would be useful to offset some heat transfer.
