No ladder should be without! these!! I went looking for a solution.
Honestly, I don't like working on ladders.Wish I'd gotten something like these years ago. These are well made with good engineering and design, a quality product, and stout. The metal these are made of is thicker and stronger than most aluminum extension ladders I've seen and used. A drilling template is included as well as a very good instruction book on how to mount them to your ladder. Also included are some shims for some models of ladders, I didn't need them. Took about 15 easy minutes to install and that includes removing the old feet from the ladder. The vertically pivoting feet are much better, larger, and stronger than those originally on my ladder and while they are just a little "fiddly," (they want to stay level if you want them vertical) once you get them positioned right they set well in the ground. I wasn't using the feet flat on the ground, I was using the points on the ends of the feet to dig in and not slide. A little duct tape held the feet vertically in position while I moved the ladder and the ends went in the ground and they didn't let the ladder move in any direction just like they should. The feet also has holes on both ends to drive stakes though to keep the ladder from slipping if you want to go that route. Well thought out.The retractable legs take just a little getting used to as far as adjusting and resetting, especially resetting, but they aren't terribly difficult to to learn. They lock positively and are very secure. These will noticeably add a little weight to the bottom of the ladder, which in itself is a good thing, but you will not be picking up the ladder form the center when carrying it horizontally. That really isn't a problem and may be better since you are closer to the end to set it up.Used them within two days after they arrived and the ladder was rock solid and plum on uneven ground, a very welcomed first for me. I still don't like working on ladders, but at least it's much safer now and that helped quite a bit. And, in case you're wondering, the price is reasonable for the quality of the product.

Every ladder should have this
I'm on a ladder almost everyday in many different situations and this has got to be one of the most well thought out products I've ever used. I don't know why every ladder doesn't have this feature as standard equipment. 1 it adds stability to your ladder just by the extra width at the bottom, 2 the rubber bottom on the feet are way superior to the basic werner ladder feet, 3 is no more using boards , blocks or rocks to stabilize your ladder on uneven ground. 4 how easy it is to use, you don't even have to bend down to engage it or disengage it. Expensive? Yes, worth every penny? Oh hell yes. Does add some weight, but first time you use it, you won't miss the money or care about the extra weight. When you are 24-32 feet in the air working off a ladder you are gonna be so much more comfortable not worrying if that rock or board or whatever is gonna slip. I can't say enough good things about this ladder leveler.I initially gave this product 4 stars but since having it since March of 2023 and its now August I have upgraded my review to 5 stars. These things have greatly improved the safety of my ladder. We now have them on all our ladders. Great well made product.

Total Game Changer - Wish I had purchased years ago
I have a walk out ranch home, so the sides of the house have sloped ground. I had been placing boards, bricks, etc under the ladder to level it for gutter work. I had the ladder come off a brick that resulted in minor injuries, but could have been much, much worse. I was ready to stop DIY ladder work completely and start paying someone. I found these and decided to give them a try even though they are a bit pricey. After about 20 minutes (or less) of installation I was ready to go and was completely amazed at how well these worked. Be sure to get the kits with two, not just one that moves from side to side. Combined with a stabilizer on top of the ladder, I can now work with confidence and no stress, even on the back of my house when the ladder is fully extended. One minor negative, they do add noticeable weight to the ladder but it is well worth it. I will not own an extension ladder without these ever again.
