They come with teeny tiny screws and are spring loaded with a fairly strong little spring. I have freakishly smart wild rats on the farm who evade traps, so using the hinges, I made a re-closeable trap door on the top of a 50 gallon drum with a hole cut into the middle of the top. The rats go after the bait and fall right in and the door closes itself so they can't jump back out. Then I take the whole barrel far away and release them away from humans and livestock. Works like a charm! :) Review: Wrong description! - These are NOT self-closing hinges, they are self-OPENING hinges. They are butt hinges with the screw holes countersunk just the way butt hinges are supposed to be. I needed self-closing hinges so I bought these to use on surface mount cabinet doors with only the knuckles showing. Can't even remove the pin to reverse rotation of the spring since it is rivet locked on both ends.

These are NOT self-closing hinges, they are self-OPENING hinges. They are butt hinges with the screw holes countersunk just the way butt hinges are supposed to be. I needed self-closing hinges so I bought these to use on surface mount cabinet doors with only the knuckles showing. Can't even remove the pin to reverse rotation of the spring since it is rivet locked on both ends.

Great Solution For My Mail Slot
I have a glass door with a spring loaded mail slot and the spring broke. The spring loaded hinge did a great job. I installed it between the door glass frame and rested it against the slot.

Nice, but expensive
These little hinges are strong for their size, and very useful. I ended up having to cut the spring out as it got in the way and it was very weak anyway. Other than that I would recommend it.

Works!
These totally serve the purpose I bought them for. I bought a butcher block countertop that folds up to the wall when not in use and that can fold down, for additional counter space in our tiny kitchen. I used six of the 10 and the springs help hold the weight when you raise and lower the countertop.

Small spring loaded hinges were hard to find. These worked great for my project. Working fine.

Quality small size spring hinges
Nice small spring hinges will work great on many applications ..good quality

Very flimsy and cheaply made
OK - so you get 10 of them for 7 bucks! But if they don't work, the price is irrelevant. Look at the picture. the one on the right is before installation. The one on the left is after removal from installation - bent like a duck bill! The spring tension is also very uneven. And the screws that come with them are so small as to be useless. If you sneeze they will scatter! Don't waste your money!
