Storming Juno

A realistic account of human resilience and sacrifice during WW2.
I liked the perspectives from three different Canadian soldiers during landing at Juno beach. One soldier storming the beach directly, the Sherman tank commander and his crew who used this adapted tank to float and move in the sea before reaching the Juno shore and finally the paratrooper who was parachuted behind Juno beach to disrupt comms and take out an artillery battery. The soldiers accounts at the end of the film was also particularly profound. I think we need to never forget the sacrifices these individuals made and the horrors they experienced to stop the Nazi war regime. I owe them a great debt to have the freedom and the lives we have today. The world would have been very different if the Axis forces won the second world war. Respect.

Storming Juno - Superb Dramatisation
Storming Juno is a superb dramatisation of actual people, their deeds and the events leading to the capture of Juno Beach by Canadian forces in the Normandy invasion. The film is made all the more poignant by the interviews at the end of the film with some of the actual people depicted in the film. This film brought a lump to my throat. This film should be compulsory viewing in schools, I think.Again, it is refreshing to have a different perspective to the normal British and American versions. Buy this, you won't be disappointed!!

This is for my son who is interested in WW2 history. He enjoyed it and said it was well made.I think it’s part film part documentary so not a big Hollywood blockbuster.

Superb!
This made for TV movie about the canadian forces landing on Juno Beach on D-Day 1944, is very well made indeed. I really enjoyed this film and have watched it a few times now.It is not Saving Private Ryan but is a very entertaining movie. Recommended.

Canadian gallantry
A most informative film, confirming what I had always been led to believe, that the Canadians are a gallant bunch of people. A very good film, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to any Canadian ex-military or not.

Great docudrama
Very good to see D-DAY from another perspective. Canadian contribution to WW2 tends to be underplayed in American and British accounts. Love to see a similar film on the Canadian liberation of Holland
