Isaac Newton was always a loner, preferring to spend his time contemplating the mysteries of the universe. When the plague broke out in London in 1665 he was forced to return home from college. It was during this period of so much death, that Newton gave life to some of the most important theories in modern science, including gravity and the laws of motion. Review: Great for kids and adults - This a great book if you just want to get a quick and short overview of Sir Isaac Newton, it doesn't go in great detail about every single act of Isaac Newton, but I found the book interesting and for a kid's book this was a great deal. It's a very quick read and I think for most they get most of the meaty stuff from this book. I honestly loved it because I am not interested in knowing the exact formulations and exploring his other stories in detail. There are other autobiographies of Isaac Newton that goes in to much more detail. Review: Excellent bookn - Fantastic book. Just like other who was books I finished this enthralling book in a few hrs. I am so grateful for these books. As a busy mama I don’t have a lot of time for reading and these books are informative, exciting and just open up a whole world for me. I leaned a lot about Isaac Newton and gained a new appreciation for his work as well as a fuller picture of him as a person.

Good overview of Newton's life
3rd grader read this for a biography report assignment for school. By the end he had a decent grasp of who Newton was and what he did. I felt like the chapters were a bit choppy and uneven, but it got the job done.

A Great series of biographies
This is an excellent series of biographies for children. Full of interesting facts, easy and enjoyable to read, and great for whetting the appetite to read further. It is just a pity that there isn't a UK equivalent series, I can think of lots more people that it would be nice to read about. The whole format is very attractive and the books bring the people to life. My grandchildren, ranging fro 8 to 11 all love them, and so do I !!! .

Great book for my son, needed to add some history to his early reading
We like to alternate our son's reading of books he would normally pick up with some that are about historical facts to mix things up and keep his reading interest and these books do the trick. He really enjoys them and starts up additional conversations.

Informative
The book *"Who Was Isaac Newton?"* offers a wonderfully approachable introduction to the life and achievements of one of history's greatest scientific minds. Written by Janet B. Pascal, this biography from the *Who Was?* series explores the life of Isaac Newton, the mathematician and physicist who revolutionized our understanding of gravity and motion. The book is suitable for young readers, with simple language and engaging illustrations by Tim Foley that bring Newton’s discoveries to life. Newton’s journey is recounted in a way that highlights his perseverance, curiosity, and the challenges he faced in his career and personal life. Readers learn about his early years, his work during the plague years, and his groundbreaking theories that forever changed science. Pascal covers Newton's development of calculus and his experiments with light, showing how his discoveries influence our world even today. The book is carefully structured, making complex scientific concepts accessible for kids, yet informative for older readers as well. It presents Newton as both an extraordinary thinker and a complex individual, including his difficult personality and life struggles. The book’s historical context also gives readers an appreciation for the era’s limited knowledge, underscoring Newton’s genius. Overall, *"Who Was Isaac Newton?"* is an engaging and educational read that will inspire young minds to explore science and history. It's an ideal pick for classrooms, school libraries, or at-home reading for budding scientists.
