BOOTS Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Day Cream SPF15

About a decade ago, I used to buy Boot's Botanics mattifying day cream (with SPF 15) from Target. At that time, the mattifying component was clay. It went on light, lasted all day, clogged no pores, and kept shine under control. Unfortunately, several years ago, they sold their company to new ownership. This new formula is not much like the old. I find that this formula irritates my eyes significantly, even whatever trace amounts might rinse near my eyes in the shower. I don't experience an allergy anywhere else (no skin or sinus issues), but the eye irritation is such that I cannot even use the same washcloth near my eyes once I have used it to wash my face on the same days as I use this moisturizer. So disappointing. I've never found another moisturizer like the old one. It was the best.

I love that this face cream does not smell or have the texture of sunscreen and it successfully blocks the sun from burning my face! It also does not leave my face shiny.

I have used this product for years and I love it. This was the first time I purchased it online. The product was sealed but it did not come in the original box, which was a little strange.

i have used Botanic products for years. i ordered 4 jars this time. one had the consistency of water.another barely thicker. the quality control folks must have forgotten this run

i had bought this a while ago and i loved it! (i bought it in store so i wouldn't have to pay for shipping) i didn't really notice much of a mattifying effect but it worked well as a regular lotion that didn't clog my pores! i would love to buy this again if it weren't for the price, but i would definitely recommend.

I'm a 35 year old with previously oily, acne prone skin that seems to be aging into combination skin. As I have hunted for a good day cream I've found its a hard target to hit, so I was pretty happy when I found this for under $15. It's got a light floral scent, a little goes a long way, and it leaves my skin very smooth. I'm skeptical about the mattifying, but it does seem to leave me non-shiny when I wear it alone on weekend days at home (low makeup days). It is not a cream however, which was disappointing to me as I prefer the feel of a thick cream. This has the consistency of lotion.
