No. 6 Volume 9

"I wish I knew how to quit you..."
...well, that line isn't in the manga, but that's one of the themes. The final volume of No. 6 focuses on the last stretch towards unifying No. 6 and working towards stabilization. Along with those focuses you do learn a little bit more about Rat and the forest people. *spoilers* Although it was hinted Safu met a similar end to the other test subjects, it confirms that she was/is nothing more than a brain and spinal chord in a giant container. You also learn a bit about the purpose of the experiment and how the test subjects were used. If you've watched the anime series, the lead up to the ending is slightly different along with the ending itself. It does have a few pages of events occurring 3 years later after Nezumi and Sion depart from each other, however it only implies that met again and never confirms since you never see them meet face to face (although one of the last pages shows what looks like the two meeting but it's all in Japanese and partially covered by a letter from the manga artist).Overall, the ending was alright, but I kind of wished they extended the three years later scenes and actually confirmed that Nezumi and Sion meet again. The two boys relationship/friendship kind of borders on BL, since Sion pretty much gives the I can't live without you speech and Nezumi somewhat reciprocating and changing his mind about never meeting again after seeing Sion spill his heart out and cry. Again, unconfirmed what kind of relationship they have after they meet again. The art is great as always. You would definitely want to get the previous volumes if you haven't or even if you've seen the anime since there are enough differences that would warrant it. Overall the series is really solid for those looking for a bit science fiction and hints of BL.

Oh God..
How this ends......Oh my I can't handle it. Like the other reviewers said it is simply a beautiful end to a beautiful manga series. It is a bit different from the anime and a good way. I like how the manga ended much better even though it as well doesn't show if Shion and Rat ever meet again. I read the extra 4 chapters from the novel series online through a fan translation (Nostalgia on 9th Avenue) No. 6 Beyond and it doesn't show them reuniting either so we'll never really know.BY THE WAY: I highly suggest reading the No. 6 Beyond novel chapters!! It tells a lot more into the back stories and A LOT more into the future of Shion and Rat! It also shows the future of Rikiga and Dogkeeper. As well, you get to learn more about Shions father and we get to meet him so definitely read those extra chapters online! Here is the site I read it on since its not officially released in English: http://9th-ave.blogspot.com/p/no-6.html

Buy it!!!
Say it isn't so! I don't want the series to end. The ending left with a cliffhanger. I mean, it finished, but it didn't end the way I wanted it to with Shion and Nezumi being an item ;_;. But it's whatever. The story was awesome, the art was beautiful, and there was a loving happy ending. I just wish there was more to it than what was given. But all good things must come to an end. This is a must for those collecting the manga and for those that are big fans of the show.*spoiler: There was one more kiss shared between the two =(>_<)=

Read This!
this series is one of the best I have read--I read it over and over all the time. the plot is excellent, and the characters are each uniquely fascinating. there are a lot of suspenseful moments and unexpected twists that keep your attention and anticipating what will happen next. my only argument is that I wish they didn't translate Nezumi's name. it sounds harsh and degrading. I think the Japanese is just fine and holds some elegance--like he himself does. same with Inukashi--it is his name. it's almost like translating Shion's name to 'Remembrance.' you just don't do that... but other than that, I really enjoyed this series, and still do!

Perfect in all ways
There is no other manga/anime that has evoked so much emotion and sadness from me. Shion and Nezumi are characters that you can truly connect with. The beautiful art shown throughout the book brings the setting(s) more to life than ever. The beauty of love in this manga is otherworldly. It shows a new world of overcoming obstacles I've never seen or read before. But the series. Watch the anime. Be amazed at the pure heart and life portrayed in this amazing manga

Just beautiful
Although I seriously wanted a 1,000,000,000% different ending for the manga (comparison wth anime) I gotta say eventhough in a way it had the same ending as the anime it was beautiful and different. I'm so happy I finally got to read this story but I'm also sad 'cause it ended. This is one of those mangas like Clamp, Chobits, or Seven Days that you just have to read. This is just the perfect combination between lovely and sad <3

I know most of people have complained about Nezumi's name ...
I know most of people have complained about Nezumi's name changed to "Rat", but you actually get used to it
