The Monocle Travel Guide to Venice: The Monocle Travel Guide Series

Quirky and expensive, but probably worth it
Far more interesting than most Venice travel guides BUT the places mentioned are referenced only by web links...not by descriptions of how to find them....we spent ages trying to find a couple of places....and even locals couldn't help us find them from the flimsy descriptions....so be prepared not to find a few things....and for the assumptions in this book that you have lots of dosh, and certain particular, modish, cultured, arty tastes...but lots of quirky things you wouldn't otherwise find, well away from the 'St. Mark's Square, the Bridge of Sighs, Rialto Bridge, etc standard guidebook places..so well worth the quite high price, if you are on a third or fourth trip to The Fabulous City.....sadly, very very little of help to vegans, though...

If Monocle cover the place you're visiting, just buy it!
Love these! Must have at least four of them. They don't follow the normal travel book narrative and found a number of places that I don't think I would have done with a conventional book.
