TL;DR: Affordable third party filter set that works acceptably in a Dyson V7/V8, though not quite at genuine Dyson quality. I bought this replacement kit for a Dyson V8 to avoid paying full price for branded filters. Out of the box, everything fit the vacuum correctly. The pre filters slide into place in the main body and the post filters twist on securely, with no wobble or looseness. Airflow feels comparable to the original filters when they were new, and suction returned to a good level on my older machine that had been running on well used originals. Build quality is decent for the cost. The plastic housings feel slightly lighter than Dyson’s and the filter media appears a bit less dense on close inspection, but in day to day use the vacuum still captures visible dust and debris without obvious bypass. I treat these as functional workhorse filters rather than long term lifetime parts. Because the price per filter is low, I am more comfortable replacing them periodically instead of stretching the life of each one too far. Washing performance is acceptable as well. After rinsing under water and letting them dry fully, they go back into the vacuum and run without error messages. I would not expect them to withstand endless wash cycles, and this is only an opinion, not objective truth, since different homes and cleaning habits will stress them in different ways. Still, for regular household cleaning, they seem to hold up reasonably well so far. For someone who wants maximum longevity and the exact performance the vacuum was tuned for, the official Dyson filters are probably still the gold standard. But if you are looking for a budget friendly set that keeps your V7 or V8 running effectively, this kit represents good value. And it’s very easy to install. I have a V8 and I hadn’t ever replaced the filters. After a couple years, I thought the performance was declining. You can rinse them but I felt it was probably time to replace, especially since I hadn’t done a great job maintaining or cleaning the filters over the years. These fit and look exactly the same as my original filters, and I feel like my suction performance has improved since replacing. You just pop them in so switching is a breeze. Reasonable price for two sets and I also got a roller hair remover tool which will get a lot of use too
