Quality built, well balanced , as good as the best branded reels.
I own Penns, Shimanos, Mitchells and Abu Garcias and the SW-4000 Supertrip TM is just as good. The build quality shows no burrs or defects, tha anodization and general finishing is excellent . The printing is silk-screened and not stick on labels that come off after use or scratch off easily.I bought the 4000 size. There is no industry standard on hwhat size a 4000/5000/6000 etc should be, some vendors have a 5000 size spool in a 4000 size body so call it a compact C5000 etc. The SW-4000 weighs 13.9oz/395g with no line, the spools has a dia 2"/52mm and weights 2.8oz/79g. To help figure how well it will fit to your rod the back of reel to top of spool (nose to tail) length is 5.52/140mm with the widest bail arm diameter of 4"/102mm. The handle lenght when fixed is apprx 32/76mm. Just compare that with your current reel to figure out the size. There are a couple of YouTube videos on this reel where they obviously do no do any fishing as they do not understand that you need to tighten the handle locking nut on the opposite side to lock it into the cranking position, the handle is not supposed to move whilst you are reeling! (just like all such reels out there). The reason other than apparet quality that I purchased thsi reel is I plan to use it for Tigerfish on the Zambezi reiver and Cariba Dam in Zimbabwe.Tigerfish are famous for wrecking cheap reels with weak gears, but they need lots of drag. The SW-4000 has a powerfull 31Ibs/14kg fron drag, more than any other of the same 4000 size I have seen. It will control those Tigers and not break based on the quality stainless steel and brass gearing. If it holds up well to Tigerfishing I will order the bigger SW-6000 for lighter surf fishing to go with my Penn SurfBlaster-2-8000 and Shimano Beastmaster XTA, not the most expensive reels on the market but great quality , value and performance. So my one line comment is ; If you buy a Supertrip TM you most definately will not be dissapointed and you will definately be pleasently surprised.!

Great reel but no spare spool.
I have now christened the reel! It performed very well with a smooth action and drag. It easily handled 20 barramundi up to 17lbs in weight and i would recommend it - especially at the promotional price. One minor draw back is the lack of a spare reel. Very happy so far.

Build quality appears very good - some issue with the bail arm refusing to open in some positions but this did not seem to affect its performance in the field. Only used once but seems light and smooth, the drag appears to be of very high quality - my reason for buying!

Great for the price!
Great little reel for the price, I bought the 5000 size which is a good size for a bit of light boat spinning for bass, pollock, etc or light boat & shore fishing for fish up to smoothhound size. It is not a beachcasting reel and I don't think the 6000 would be either, only gripe I can see is that the handle knob is a bit small, but good line lay and very smooth 👍
