Definitely recommend
I love this book and so do my kids (ages 2 and 5). I would definitely recommend for a kids first day of school.

Great introduction to preschool for my toddler
After several conversations with my toddler revealed a high degree of anxiety in starting preschool, I decided to buy this book. I will admit, I mainly bought the book due to the fact that my son and the boy in the book both have red hair. However, it is well written and describes the progression of a school day very well. I find that it works well for preschool as well as for kindergarten (what it was intended for I believe). It is a new house favorite of my son's reading collection and I am happy to report his first day of preschool was successful.

Best book for those first days of 2-3yr old preschool. I searched for ages and I am very happy with this board book.

Good book for first day but it is so small and each child would have to take turns coming to see the pages. Great book though!

very cute book. read this to my kids on the first day of school.

Highly recommend
I used this book for my 4 year old who was going to pre-k and it helped him and me a lot. I was nervous for him. There were a lot of similarities in the book (like red being the boys favorite color and the pictures the mom took on the first day - I’m a photographer) so that helped A LOT. I read it almost every night until school started. I recommend this book for kids starting a new school.

Perfect book about the first day of school!
I love this book! Cheerful rhyme and adorable illustrations. What a sweet book to read to young children as they learn about school, as they prepare to go off to school, and as they sit in their new class! I would recommend this book to everyone. This book feels modern (referencing the mom taking lots of pictures, the children's names, etc), yet classic. The ending is perfect.

We love this book!
We have a lot of back to school books because I'm a teacher can't help myself when I see one at the bookstore. This is one of my favorites. What a sweet story and amazing illustrations. My youngest starts preschool this fall and I can't wait to read it to him the night before the first day.

Great kindergarten prep book
I bought this for my little one who is set to start kindergarten in the fall. I like that the illustrations include a lot of diversity, including people with various skin tones and a girl in a wheelchair. The rhyming and rhythm is lovely, and a wide variety of "scenes" help to show what the first day of kindergarten will be like.
