Tormenter Waterman 5 Pocket Boardshorts

Nice style shorts. The material a little thin and the orange is much brighter than the picture on Amazon. After we washed the fish crinkled up a little, tried to show that in the pic. The 2nd pic is inside out of the fish because there is no lining this stitching is really thick and it bothered my husband’s leg whenever it rubbed against it. My husband really like the design but said the fit was tight and we needed to go up one size. If this was lined we would probably buy another one in a bigger size but since it is not we won’t.This is a real review from someone that purchased on my own not for the purpose of a review. I really rely on unbiased reviews to help me decide on whether I should purchase or not and helps me with sizing. I have realized it’s getting harder to figure out which are unbiased, so this why I have now started adding this. Thanks!

These board shorts are good. I live in Hawaii and wear board shorts all the time. I ordered a size 38 and they are spot on. If you are in between sizes then the fit may not be as good around the waistline as there is no stretch. Your only option would be to order one size smaller, go on a diet, and loosen up the lacing until you have reached that perfect size. The length is good. I’m 6’-0” and they go to just below my kneecaps. They are a comfortable fit with plenty of pockets and the Mahi Mahi color pattern is vibrant, fun and different (my wife says it looks more like a peacock than a Mahi Mahi). But I like it! The fish bone embroidery on the side is pretty cool too.What would make them great 5 star boardshorts?1. If the material was 4-way stretch (there is no stretch in the material).2. If the fly was seamless (it's Velcro and the hard material edge and stitching seams can irritate the privates after a while).3. If at least one of the pockets was zippered (I like to know that my car key, hotel room card or whatever is still in there when I need it). Velcro pocket closures don’t give me that security.I think Tormenter makes another pair of shorts that are the stretchier fabric. Maybe I’ll give those a try next?

I do like the shorts overall, good fit, feel, function, etc. What I like most is that the sizes ARE what they are supposed to be. I have a hard time finding clothes that fit me right. I'm a smaller stature guy, and no going to the kids section isn't the answer (and yes, a little pride probably does keep me away totally). If you take a tape measure or anything, I'm 28" darn near on the dot and I can't tell you how many size 28 or, even 29 sized board shorts I've purchased that are (in one case in particular) 5" too large. That's not just me trying them on and them being too big, that's me taking a size 28 board short, measuring the waist with a seamstress tape, and they were just under 33" in circumference. I guess for those people in their 30s-50s that want to believe they are the same size waist as they were in high school or, college (pre-freshman 15! lol), something like that works out great! A real confidence booster. You can go from a size 40 to a 34 or 36 overnight depending on the brand. For me, finding a pair that I actually liked and that did fit true to size, I couldn't be happier. That's pretty sad something so minute can make me that happy but...? :)

First and foremost, I do not get paid to write reviews. I also did not receive this product for free in exchange for a good review.These are some heavy duty shorts. They are not cheaply made at all. All of the pockets come in handy as you can wear these at the lake, in the pool or on a boat fishing. They even have the pocket for pliers/cutters.The only drawback is that either you have to go commando or wear underwear with these shorts because they lack the mesh. I know if you're in a public pool, sometimes they get a bit weird about people wearing underwear with their swimwear.Overall, a great product that I hope will last for years.

I love the idea of all the pockets and the attention to detail is readily apparent in everything about these. The trunks were packaged nicely and they put in a huge fishbone sticker in with the boardshorts which is kind of cool. I don't care for the HUGE "tormentor" lettering stitched on the flap pocket, it's cheesy and has negative connotations...but the "Mahi" green fish skin style is pretty rad. I'm a big guy, my waist size is 36 but I had to go up to size 38...and even the 38s didn't fit right (too tight at waist and too big at the leg. I had to return those too. I generally loved the fit of the 36 much better as they tapered with the leg but the waist was too small (easily by two sizes), whereas the 38s feel a bit too billowy at the thigh like cargo shorts, though waist fit somewhat better but still too small.I wish the big flap pocket on the left was on the right as I'm right handed and that's where my phone and misc goes. Was really surprised there was no back pocket whatsoever. There is a double pocket on the right that rides higher up near your hips for your snips that might work for the phone, I might grow to love that pocket, I'm not sure yet. But I love the style of the waist (no annoying elastic to pinch you constantly), the trunks sit on your hips like true boardshorts, I like the wide band. The velcro seems solid enough in the fly area.Thankfully, there's no weird "diaper" in these boardshorts so the shorts feel like your wearing air rather than a hammock stitched into a pair of trunks. Having said that, they tend to fit small...they seem made more for skinny people.I'm worried the fabric won't last long but we'll see, I'm personally not a fan of the soft polyester and prefer surf nylon like handmade Birdwell Beach Britches.The company was great about returns and shipped me a larger pair lightening fast. I think it's a good company but I wish it had a back pocket and a big pocket on the lower right for quick access to your phone.

I thought that for the price and the images, they would be more thick and rugged. That is why I put 4 stars instead of 5.These will be my goto shorts for this summer for sure. Like I said, I thought they were pretty thick and rugged but it's the absolute opposite witch is actually a better thing for me as I like to get in the water a lot and these will dry very fast! The interior is very soft and comfortable and feel absolutely no itchy seams anywhere. Im always scared to order clothing online because sizing isn't always accurate. Well these are exactly the size that you would expect. The length is perfect to be standing and sitting often when fishing on a boat so you won't have to do the 'pull-up' move when sitting down.And now, the main reason I bought these, is they look amazing!

Jai acheté les noir et les bleu et les 2 ont perdu tout leur couleur en moin de 6 semaines... les bleu son maintenant rouge...ont voient la couleur dorigine a linterieur de la poche...je nai jamais vu sa depuis que jsuis en age de macheter des short...Ne pas acheter sa svp....trop cher
