Magnifiers are a source of so many cute activities, and I love this toy because it lets kids watch bugs without hurting them.Definitely a must for very young kids - it says 3 years old on the box, but I'd totally get it for younger toddlers!2 y.o. kids are in this explore mood all the time, they would love it.- The Bugwatcher is small enough not to be too bulky --> can just throw it in a small backpack or bag- It comes with 3 stockable cups --> again, compact + you can play with things like rocks, flowers and leaves etc- It comes with tweezers --> great dexterity practice, developing fine motor skills- Simple design, kind of impossible to mess up with --> good for younger kids

Loved by my three and seven year-olds. The spare containers to hold bugs do not latch or seal closed, so the lids fall off easily and release the captives, err, objects of observation...otherwise I would give this 5 stars. My kids use this every week. The magnifying container is terrific, with two different ways to view the critters inside. Sturdy, well-made and easy to clean if needed. We ordered this after visiting our nephew in Portland Oregon and realizing he loved bugs. We had it sent directly to him and he absolutely loves it. We were out searching for bugs and he found one that he called "silly the slug" this is a great product and very well-made. It has a nice part with a magnifying view that is very clear.

My four year old loves this bug box! I think it would be better though, if you could look through the magnifying part without having to remove the bug from the little container. The magnifying part doesn't fit over all the smaller boxes that the bugs are in.

This was a gift for my son's 6th birthday. He's an outdoor/adventure/bug loving kid, but I wanted a bug viewer that wasn't intended to "house" anything. This is great for short-term viewing, and then releasing! It's durable and even after many drops and bangs, nothing is broken. We haven't really used any of the extra pieces, as he doesn't need tweezers--he picks bugs up all the time. We toss this in our nature bag for fun outdoor play. You can really see a lot of details on the bugs, which makes it interesting and exciting for the little ones! Even the 2 and 9 year old like looking at his catches!

My granddaughter loves catching bugs and this lets her also look at them under magnification. The little jars it came with are great to help catch the bugs. But they are very tightly sealed so the bugs inside will die if not let out in a timely manner. Great kit!

It just doesn't really work. The containers are nice for holding bugs the kids catch and just looking at them with the naked eye, but the magnifiers don't work. They are blurry and there's no way to focus. I wouldn't purchase again or recommend it, but it's not the worst buy ever made.

Excellent magnification, pots and lids slot together nicely, but aren't secure, so specimens can't be carried any real distance. On the plus side, they have little magnifying lenses on top of the lid.

Fun for the kids to explore nature. Kids have lots of fun finding bugs and viewing. Only reason for losing a star is it scratches easy. Maybe not a problem for older kids but younger kids may scratch them up making viewing less clear.
