Herbox Granular Sodium Free Beef Bouillon, 3.3-Ounce (Pack of 6)

I had to cut sodium and a lot of other things in my diet, and it is hard to get anything that tastes decent and is salt-free. I rarely use just boullion/broth, mostly use this as flavoring in other food I am preparing. As a 'spice' and as a condiment (sprinkled on after wards as a flavor enhancer just like you would use pepper) I have liked the taste. It dissolves well in hot water/boiling water. A jar lasts a reasonable amount of time too, I like that. The box of six means I'm not out immediately and if I reorder when I open the last jar I will never be out, and I have never had to worry about reaching date (a year or more out when I receive a box). Sodium salted will taste different.... for salt free this is a really good flavor. And it doesn't have MSG.Ingredients: Sugar (gives 1g sugar and adds to the 2g of carb per teaspoon), potassium chloride, onion powder, maltodextrin, monammonium glutamate, gelatin, beef fat, autolyzed yeast, silicon dioxide (anticaking), carmel color, spice, sodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, dextrose, flavoring.I don't like eating MSG and I actually hunted this up, there are several glutamate salts, the sodium glutamate is MSG, the one here is a version of the ammonium glutamate, in same family... but not the same one. It doesn't cause me issues that MSG seems to. The potassium chloride has a slightly different bite than regular salt, and I think it tends to go better with the beef flavor. I have tried their chicken flavor and the potassium bite doesn't work with the chicken flavor as well.

Have used the Herbox granular beef and chicken for several years. I like being able to measure out just the amount needed. I thought the cubes might be easier to use; however, they are not sodium free.

It’s a good beef bullion. I’ve been looking for a long time for beef bullion that did not have salt in it that tasted well this one’s a full-fledged winner

Great product for those on sodium-restriction. Adds a beefy flavor to rice, vegetables, and I even use it to make a concentrate to add to roasts I cook in the crock pot. My one disappointment is that it does have a little sugar in it. Unnecessary, but apparently the food industry thinks we won't buy products without sugar. It is NOT granular, but rather a powder. I'm glad HerbOx is giving some consideration to those of us who need to lower our salt intake. The regular bullion is prohibitively salty.

I’ve used this flavor, as well as the sodium free chicken, in the individual packets, which was especially handy to take to work and replace the MSG stuff that comes with ramen noodles. Now for cooking at home the jars are more economical than the packets. I add this to stews and chili, etc. even if I use meat, to boost the flavor. It’s a good product.

The previous company I purchased these from shipped them in a convenient box of twelve, but their price jumped steeply. These were loose, but well protected during shipping. Luckily, I kept my previous box to store the new containers. Product quality great as always.

My husband is on a no sodium/low sodium diet and it has been hard to find things that taste salty without the actual salt. This beef bullion is the best tasting no sodium bullion we've had so far. It's better than the chicken flavor (although we like that one, too) in that it actually can stand alone as a broth without too much of a weird taste. Even my kids will eat it, so while it is more expensive than regular bullion, we've switched to using this exclusively whenever we need beef bullion or beef flavoring.

Love having the No Salt Bouillon option. Love it!!!
