Casio Scorpion G9300-1 Wristwatch w/Altimeter, Barometer and Thermometer CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

Mud Man Splash & Dash
Excellent watch. Better fitting and looking than the 3195 (GW-2310), which looks too compact and has chrome plastic along the crown (see pix). Additionally, MM is bigger and I like bigger. My wrists are slim but MM looks nice on my wrist. Wrist band is more flexible. Looking cleaner like a commando or special forces piece of equipment, the MM is a great watch, my favorite.Only drawback is there is no multi-band 6 (atomic time) feature for this version of the MM. Paying an additional $100 more, the Japanese version has this atomic time component and is readily available through Amazon. This component is not a big deal with me since setting time with the MM is real simple and as long as I'm within 10 seconds of NIST time then I'm good. I highly recommend this very durable watch without the multi-band 6 component since setting time adjustments are very easy.

Great watch until a Army tank runs over it.
This watch lasted five years under extreme conditions (water, mud, sweat, heat, freezing temps). Only thing that killed it was it fell off and an Army tank ran over it. Just ordered a replacement.

US Army Soldier
Let me start by saying that this is a great watch. I had my doubts about buying it at first but man am I glad I bought it in the end. To give you an idea of this watches day to day life, I am in the US Army so it sees a lot of action each day from land navigation to situation training.Pros: Love that it is solar powered, this way I don't have to worry about the battery dying when I use the light or compass, just wear it in the sun and it charges itself. Between night land navigation and military ops both these functions see a lot of use. That being said I love the fact that this watch has a compass. Down side is that you have to calibrate north using a separate compass, other than that it comes in great in a pinch. The moon phases feature is pretty helpful especially in junction with the compass. The watch also includes a small battery level display on the main screen so you can have an idea of its charge level. The ability to set another time zone and have it displayed is a nice feature to use when I find myself out of the country. At first I was worried about this watch being to big as some of the other G-Shocks I have seen are huge. Presently to my surprise this watch really is not to big in fact it is just about the right size and the wrist band has enough notches to accommodate just about any wrist size.Cons: I really don't have much to say here, only some nicky picky things. The temperature feature is cool but rather inaccurate while on your wrist since the sensor is right next to your skin and picks up body heat. I love the multiple alarms but I wish that they were a little louder, I am not a heavy sleeper but find that sometimes the alarm is too quiet to wake me up.Overall opinion: This is a great watch, I really can't say enough good about it.It is durable, functional and looks cool. I highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a good watch, especially military and police personnel.

Living up to its name
I got this watch because I needed a something that could take a beating and keep going. I recently got a job where I am constantly getting dirty, sweating and crawling around in the dirt, and I realized I didn't have a watch that was comfortable exposing to that kind of abuse. So what did I do? I spent days researching G shock and similar watches, of course! I watched tons of YouTube videos and read countless reviews on Amazon. I got in deep. In the end this is what I decided on. I have only had it for a week but it was like love at first sight when I opened the box. I've worn it every day since and have absolutely no worries when I wear it at my job, or anywhere else.I would like to do an update review later on down the road once I have truly broken this bad boy in. Stay tuned.Update: 02/11/18It’s been 7 months since I’ve had this watch and I still wear it every day! At least on the days I work, the ole 5 out of 7 days a week. As a plumber, this watch has seen some ****, and I do mean that quite literally, as well as figuratively. This thing is built like a tank and I have never once been concerned about getting this watch “too dirty” or “too wet”, etc.Now with that being said, I feel I should add that that durability comes with a price. This is a bulky watch. There’s no arguing about it. Now, whether or not that is something that is going to bother you, only you can decide. To me, it is a fair trade off. Personally, the size doesn’t bother me, unless I’m dressed up heavily for winter and have a lot of layers on. However, to be fair, I think most watches might feel uncomfortable and/or bunched up on your wrist If you have a lot of layers on. So, not really a big deal but I thought it to be worth mentioning. And although it is of larger size, I generally find it to be quite comfortable. I have a 6.75 inch wrist, which is smaller than most. With that being said, this watch doesn’t overpower my wrist. My favorite thing about it besides it’s durability is that it is extremely accurate in its ability to keep time. I never have to worry about having to adjust the time or date. It’s easy to read in basically all types of light and conditions. I find the feature where you raise and turn your wrist to activate the backlight to be particularly useful. With that feature on I almost never have to. Press any of the buttons. This watch has a LOT of features. I never use the compass or the thermometer. I really don’t have any use for them. Same goes for the moon phase icon. I will admit, it is cool to have it there, but honestly I just don’t ever use it! So thankfully it is just tucked away off to the side there and out of the way. The “second hand” icon is also pretty cool, but I think it is just that, pretty cool. To me, it doesn’t serve any other purpose besides adding a little wonder to the face of the watch. I do find myself staring at it sometimes, though, so I guess there’s that.I enjoy that this watch is solar powered. Since I’ve had it, the battery has mostly stayed on High, with only dropping down to Medium over the past month or so. I have never taken the time to set it out in the sun to recharge it. Perhaps I will do that some time.Overall, I am still happy with my purchase, and I plan on continuing to update my review later down the road. Cheers!Update: 03/18/23I actually still wear this watch daily through the week. It still keeps time just fine, hasn’t broke down on me, no cracks on the crystal, barely even scratched really. And I’ve literally never considered taking it off to protect it from ANYTHING. Solar power is still working great, stays on High. I love if it gets dirty I can just run it under some water since it’s waterproof. I still think the backlight is cool as well.
