Nickelback: Live at Sturgis 2006

I bought this blu-ray from Amazon and it is not censored. So while my blu-ray is definitely uncensored, it seems that the DVD has two versions, one uncensored and one censored.Anyway, I think the concert was great. I saw a few women without their tops, but it was no big deal. It's the equivalent of a National Geographic magazine about native peoples. You see pictures of native women in Africa or on the Pacific islands, and they are dancing without wearing anything on top. It's the same thing in the upper Great Plains of America, you're just watching a few native women dancing without wearing anything on top. It's nothing to get excited or all riled about. They are just mostly background shots of people dancing and having fun and there are only a very few images. I don't recall any suggestiveness beyond dancing and moving to the music.I liked "Far Away" and "Photograph". As I was working on this review the song "Photograph" came on the radio. This is a really cool song. On the concert, images of people brought forth memories from the band's past.What I could do without, though, was a few of the expletives coming from the mouth of Nickelback. Just sing the songs please.If you are a Nickelback fan, get this concert. It's quite enjoyable to watch this young group play.

I can't imagine why they would discontinue this DVD! Nickelback: Live at Sturgis... I just got my copy two days ago, and I think it's AWESOME! The camera work is a bit slower paced so you can at least see the boys as they're playing. On the other concert DVD, Nickelback Live at Home, (which I have also) the camera work is fast and furious and your eyes are darting all over the place. I appreciate the slower camera work on this DVD. You can actually watch Chad's fingers workin' over the frets. It has 12 of NB's classic songs that we all know and love, behind the scenes feature, photo gallery, Sturgis 101 vignette, and the Rockstar video. The sound, color and sharpness are all top-notch. I guess I should consider myself lucky for acting fast and grabbing this DVD as quickly as I saw it. It was money well spent and I hope other NB fans can find a copy somewhere floating around on the internet.

The concert looks and sounds amazing. Love those crunchy riffs.

I enjoyed the just over one hour of material presented. The concert was well played out by the band. However this was viewed on Blu Ray so I expected the highest production values to be used. While a plethora of camera's have been used I can safely assume that many were not HD quality . Most of the drummers shots and and the reverse angle shots where you see the audience from the stage viewpoint were very grainy. The camera's have been obviously gained to compensate for the low light conditions. The video on all the frontal shots of the stage were good, so I just wish the producers avoided the grainy footage as this tended to stick out. The audio quality on the 5.1 slection was very good. The sound mix was well balanced and had the required crispness and clarity to make the audio track really superb.I gave it 4 stars because this is a slightly technical matter and overall most viewers would enjoy the recording.

Many of you have complained about this dvd being censored. Welcome to the world of WalMart and Target who choose to do things such as this, and take the word "porno" out of dvd's. This is what happens when society places the responsibility of teaching morals and values on corporations and government rather than taking these responsibilities on themselves.Thankfully, only a limited number of these dvd's were made for Walmart, and the rest (after March 10th I believe) are 100% uncensored. You want swearing, you got it. You want females topless, you got it!WalMart has no place censoring things, BUT they are the world's largest distributor, and they place ridiculous demands such as this. Thankfully, the band realizes that their true fans want to see TRULY uncensored material! This dvd IS truly uncensored, like you'll never see @ WalMart!

If you are a nickelback fan, you will love this!If you have been on another planet and have never experienced a heavy rock outfit pumping out some of the best headbanging riffs, get onto this blu ray disc.This band is tight, powerful, controlled and delivers music at an intensity that is up there with some of the best rock outfits of the modern age.The dvd video is brilliantly captured and the sound track is equally superbly mixed and recorded and offers all the usual sound options of blu-ray discs.The PCM option is fantastic for those wanting to put the sound back through their ageing 2channel stereo amps.This disc is worth whatever you have to pay to get it into your lounge rooom.

dvd is in perfect condition. Chad Kroeger is in great form, moving all over the stage and making all feel included, also was very pleased that it was a concert that was produced after daniel adair became drummer. Daniel brings so much talent and excitement to the group, makes them the whole package. Watching the dvd you feel like you are at the actual concert, even to the piece where chad kroeger hints that the cameras where blocking his sight of the fans. Sound quality is excellent. You hear the screaming but it does not inhibit the music at all. Chad Kroeger's voice is in great form, not tired like at some of the later concerts.

I only say that because I had watched this particular concert online, loved it. Live At Sturgis the biggest and baddest biker rally in the world. That being said, I bought the DVD. When I put it in to watch i was very disappointed, I somehow received what I refer to as "rock n roll for the children" everything is bleeped and blurred. It may as well be Live from Disneyland.I see no indication anywhere in all of the packaging that this is the censored version... Lame

Never got the opportunity to see NB . (Seems like it is a stigma to be a NB fan in BC, Canada 🤷‍♀️but I am a proud fan and have been since the beginning). so I bought this DVD. Happy I bought it. Great song choices and good show. If you are a NB fan then I recommend this dvd. Seeing this dvd makes me hope they tour again.

La prima volta che ho visto questo dvd ho pensato che il concerto fosse in playback tanto era buono ma avendo visto altre immagini live ed essendo stato testimone di un concerto dei Nickelback la verità è che la band canadese è un grande live act. I numerosi detrattori dei Nickelback dovrebbero guardarsi questo dvd e poi ne riparleremmo; tra i gruppi più detestati da un po’ di anni a questa parte (chi lo sa poi perché….) la band canadese in realtà è in grado di mettere in piedi un grande spettacolo alternando pezzi trascinanti e splendide ballads e il tanto vituperato Chad Kroeger è uno dei pochi cantanti che è in grado di cantare dal vivo come su disco. Se ne avete la possibilità andate a vederli dal vivo.

Nickelback's erste und hoffentlich nicht letzte Konzert-BluRay zeigt einem, was die Jungs musikalisch können und wie ein Konzert-Mitschnitt auszusehen und zu klingen hat.Zuerst kurz zum Inhalt: Das Konzert ist einfach Hammer, aber leider viel zu kurz geraten. Dafür ist es natürlich äußert kurzweilig und kein einziger Song im Set der nicht entweder Rockt oder mit ausgezeichneten Texten aufwarten kann.Zur Blu-Ray Umsetzung: Leider wurde hier bisher nichts zur Blu-Ray-Version geschrieben, dies will ich nun nachholen. Die Bildqualität ist genau das, was ich von einem Konzert erwarte. Kein absolut gestochen scharfes Bild ohne Rauschen - Es ist eben kein am Rechner produzierter Animationsfilm sondern ein Konzert, das unter mittelmäßigen Lichtbedingungen gefilmt wird. Dafür bleibt einfach die Atmosphäre vom Konzert und Nickelback erhalten: Alles etwas rauer und härter, so wie ihr Rock.Der Schnitt ist sehr interessant und wechselt, passend zur Musik, zwischen harten Schnitten mit schnellen Kamera-Bewegungen und weichen Überblendungen und Kamerafahrten.Der Sound kommt als PCM-Stereo, PCM-5.1 (ca. 5-8 Mbit) sowie 5.1 dts-Spur daher. Die 5.1 dts-Variante klang meiner Meinung nach am Besten (Probe gehört auf einem teufel Kompakt 30 sowie teufel E300 an einem Denon AVR-1610). Wer auf HD-Audio-Formate steht wird leider enttäuscht, denn auch beim Sound gilt, dass hier eher auf eine etwas rauere Umsetzung gesetzt wurde und weniger auf (teilweise übertriebene) Höhen in anderen Konzert-Umsetzungen. Wie bereits gesagt, die PCM-Spur (von der Bit- und Samplingrate vergleichbar mit HD-Audio) klingt in meinen Ohren minimal schlechter.Fazit: Qualitativ praktisch ohne Beanstandung und auch das Bonusmaterial sieht nicht aus, als wäre es mit einem Camcorder gefilmt worden. Leider einfach viel zu Kurz. Obwohl man dazu sagen muss, dass als Extra ein Interview samt Konzertmitschnitten von etwa 45 Minuten Länge dabei ist. Dieser Mix wird bei einigen, neueren Umsetzung ja auch gerne als Konzert selbst beworben - von daher kommt man auch auf ein "paar Minuten mehr Nickelback".
