Great book for everyone who wants to learn about the bible and how to get understanding.
I recommend this book for all Christians. It's a great way to get understanding of how the bible can be read. It has a pages that are like workbooks. It can be used as a group study or Individual study. Great book for all!!!

Excellent Resource!
This was the very first small group Bible Study guide I ever used, and it was an excellent resource for our VERY small group, comprised of myself and one other person. We were both very new to Bible Study and "Growing Strong" was just right for us in so many ways. It was challenging and interactive, but perfect for beginners in the sense that it was accessible and not rigorously theological. It provided an excellent foundation for us and we found it to be stimulating to the extent that we eagerly looked forward to meeting each week to see what we would learn next. It came highly recommended by a mature Christian friend and it proved to be worthy of his praise. I have been in Small Groups off and on for 19 years now and I thank God for giving me this great resource to get me started and begin to truly grow in my walk with Him. God used "Growing Strong" to give me an excitement and hunger for His Word that continues to this day, and for that I will be eternally grateful!!!

Great
I lead a couple of groups with this book. The Navigators where out of it, and I needed it at once. I am trying to get my church into this program. I took this course over 25 years ago, when it was designed for a 2 year program and loved it. As a new believer, this was the best that could have happened to me. I became rooted in the work and ready to do what God commanded us to do, "Go and make disciples..." This program gets you ready for this, I just regret that it is a one year program now instead of two.Scripture memory, is awsome. The best thing that I ever did. Once I memorized all the verses, (65)they got me through all kinds of issues. It is nice to be able to pull a verse from memory at the right moment of need. This is one of the benefits of this program. You want to establish habits in your life, like daily quiet time, daily prayer, communion with God. This is an excellent tool to get you there.

Following The Great Commandment of Jesus
It was 1995 and I had just gone thru the 7 steps to freedom for Neil Anderson. What next? My spiritual mentor began with this amazing series that got me grounded and rooted in God's Word, taught me how to study His Word, Pray, have the assurance of salvation, assurance of answered prayer, assurance of victory, assurance of forgiveness, and assurance of guidance. This is a must for every believer whatever state of life they may be in their walk with the Rabbi. I am now 23 years late taking another brother in Christ through this same process and enjoying the journey with him.

Saved and staying saved!
I think one of the hardest challenges that I have as a Christ follower is to stay focused and committed each and every day in seeking out Gods will for me. Growing strong in God's Family has set me up for success in this mission. It gave me tools to learn and growth in which has helped me to build my solid foundation in discipleship.I was saved once and this study in discipleship is helping me stay saved in my heart and on my journey with Jesus. If you are ready to take your faith to the next level, start here. I can't wait to start the next book I the series!!

It is a great tool to help a Christian grow
My wife and I started taking this series over 30 years ago, and then continued facilitating it through at least 3 updates with adults and teens with exciting results. The current 3 books are excellent for helping Christians who are either new, or are old, but have been in churches that did not encourage their members to read the bible for themselves, to grow in their relationship with our Lord. This book 1 requires about an hour of homework a week, and it is designed to encourage attendees to start reading their bibles daily. Attendees practice sharing what they have read in the bible with the group, and develop in many other areas as well.

Great read.
This is a great book. We all forget about the true meaning of love. Adam the author did a great job with this book. He is even a better human in person. If you get the chance go meet him.

Excellent Tool for Discipleship
This is a classic tool (and series) used to disciple effectively men & women at all ages and stages in their relationship with God. We're using it mainly with adults but it can also be used with Jr. High and High School students. This one-year program can transform men and women into more mature believers who can reach out to others (both Christian and non-Christian). You will have a solid walk with God and "tools" to disciple others for the Kingdom. You will be equipped to lead investigative Bible studies in your neighborhood as you live a lifestyle-evangelism focus or teach through this program.I have used it for 10 years with consistent results as the Holy Spirit empowers the process of growth.Best done in a small group of 5-9 plus the facilitator.

Inadvertent Deception
This book from the Navigators is wishy, washy & does not teach new converts to behold God & the gospel. It does not clarify the role of confession which is not to seek or ‘obtain’ forgiveness given the opposite truth set out in Hebrews 10, but to ‘know’ (experience intimately like Adam knew Eve) God’s forgiveness in restored fellowship, not to deceive ourselves, not to hinder inflow grace & answers to prayers, etc. Just like the CL series, one of its predecessors, that taught confession as a means to “obtain” forgiveness, a Roman Catholic teaching.Worse, the gospel is watered down as on page 120, we are taught post-presenting the Bridge, to warn would-be converts, that when Christ comes into your life, “He may begin to renovate your life in ways that could be uncomfortable...?” May?! Renovate!? Could be uncomfortable?! Excuse me, if someone is born again to believe in Christ, He must be Lord of all, or no lord of anything at all. It’s not He “may” “renovate” but He will uproot sin & overhaul in full your life. It is not yours to live. Matt 16:24-25, Matt 10:37.To present Him as Saviour only, or to defer & tell people in their follow-up lesson weeks later, about full lordship, only after ‘conversion’ & after lessons on new life, assurance of salvation, forgiveness, guidance, etc, is inadvertent deception. Contrast that, with Christianity Explored, which [course] invites hearers literally, to “Come and die for whoever will lose his life for My sake, will find it” after demonstrating who Jesus Christ is & what He has pre-planned from eternity & done. This is then followed up (if one surrenders with repentance towards & lordship to Christ) with Discipleship Explored which is a bible study on Philippians. Thus, for follow up, it is much, much safer, to stick from day 1, after conversion, to studying the Scriptures: say, a gospel, then Romans, Philippians & James, etc, with a study bible.‘The Ways of the Alongsider’ is much better although this book is not for following up newbies, but it is nonetheless, a good Navigators discipleship resource. ‘Disciples Are Made Not Born’ which I have used countless times through the years, is brilliant, too.

No page numbers only location
I prefer Kindle books for readying but as this is actually a study not easy to use as there were no page numbers and the group I was studying with were using the actual book. Disappointed.
