I first discovered this on a long working visit to Norway in the 1970s and I keep buying the occasional bottle in an attempt to relive those memories.It's strange stuff, though given the chance it does "grow" on you. These days I cannot handle it as well as I used to and I also have the impression that there is quite a bit more "fireball" in today's bottle than there ever was in the old days.Does any other drinker of this stuff experience the same? More fiery than it used to be?Ach, weel, it's no' that important in the great scheme of things, though to be honest I was mebbes just wondering, has the company maybe been taken over globally and this Aquavit maybe no longer "Crosses The Line"?Just asking.

Very smooth, an authentic taste

not altogether what i was expecting but since i didnt have any idea what it was like i was very impressed with it and i will probably get some more. Not as hash as whisky

For me it was best served with a mixer but that is just my personal taste, friends had it straight and they enjoyed it

This, along with Gammel Oppland is one of my two favourite "mainstream" aquavites. Smooth, yet distinctive and strong flavour coupled with a rich nose and a warm after taste gives Linie a certain stand out quality compared to may other aquavites.The round-the-world trip advertised on the bottle is also not a gimmick as many attempts have been made to replicate the distinctive flavour by cheaper means and all have failed. The contents of this bottle really has been across the equator twice during maturation!A great drink to accompany food (especially certain heavy Northern European or British dishes) or as a separate sipping drink of an evening.

Quality Aquavit perfect for Norwegians studying abroad or adventurous foreigners, Et lite stykke Norge. Incredibly fun at predrinks.

The best in the view of my Scandinavian friends and myself richly flavoured and a compliment to heering on brod !
