All the tools needed to vacuum stairs properly.
My first step was to Google "best vacuum for carpeted stairs".This vacuum was in the top 2 on 3 different sites. All 3 sites agreed that on the plus side was the suction, on-board tools, sturdiness of product, and extra long cord. All 3 sites agreed that on the negative was the weight which was around 2-3 pounds heavier than the other vacuums. One site explained that the heaviness was due to using sturdy solid metals in the construction of this vacuum which I felt removed the negative comments. Now to my experience...I received this vacuum this evening and wanted to test it immediately.I was pleasantly surprised when all the packaging was tossed & the only set-up I had to do was to store the crevasse tool in its on-board storage area (tucked away in the end of the unit) & wind the cord around the base. No taking it apart to remove bits of paper or tape. A very nice surprise! My carpeted stairs are used by me, my 3 cats, & 2 dogs. They are also used by my relatives 2 dogs & the neighbor dog. That is a lot of pet hair.To compound matters, I have very long hair. My hair historically destroyed a vacuum a year until I found my Kirby. It causes my Oreck to burn through a belt at each use. So I was a little concerned on how the brush mechanism would work. The brush mechanism worked beautifully on the tread of the stairs. The clear cover over the brush can be adjusted down to allow the brushes use on the riser part of the stairs. This is a feature that I do not feel received enough attention in the reviews I found online. This is a GREAT feature! It saves time using the crevasse tool and I did not see this feature on any of the other vacuums.Having the crevasse tools on-board the unit makes switching to it for side & base use extremely easy.I did the tread & risers on my way up the stairs then switched and did crevasse work on the way back down. Very slick! The emptying of the filter was quick and easy. The brush mechanism took a bit of time to pick my hair out of but I was very surprised at how few strands were caught around the roller (not to mention that it didn't burn the unit out). It was an easy cleanup & the vacuum looked new again in no time.A note about the weight. My arm was getting tired from toting the unit up and then back down until I figured that I could just rest it on the next step down while I was crevassing each step. The hose is flexible & long enough to do this.I feel that this is an excellent product that will be used consistently in my household for many years to come.

Great bang for the buck!
This little vacuum has a lot of power, thanks to being corded. And these days, it seems that manufacturers are trying to cut costs of production by putting short cords on everything, but this one has a 20' cord as well. The design of this vacuum is elegant. The vacuum hose that you see wrapped over the top of the unit is where all the suction is. It connected above the beater brush head, which, by the way, can be turned off or on at the three way switch, which gives you off, on, and on-with-beater-brush, oriented near your thumb forward of the handle. You might say that the power switch is actually a four function switch. More on that below. At any point while cleaning, if you want to pull the hose off and use it to get into a tighter spot, it's easy to do by just slipping off the friction fit from the brush head. If you need a little crevice tool to get even more fine control of where you want to place the suction, there is a tool stored at the rear of the vacuum, just south of where you can wind the cord, right smack in the center. It's just a hole in the back, but it works really slick. You just push the tool in and it orients itself and clicks into place. To remove, just grab it and pull. I've started to develop arthritis over the last five years, and I find it quite easy to remove and replace. There is no bag, but the vacuum does have a filter in the dirt collector between the handle and the front beater brush. The collector is easily released to empty, by using that fourth function of the power switch mentioned above. Pulling the power switch back to the "off" position, and then continuing to pull back will release the dust collector, so you can just grasp the cup and pull it off. The dirt is held into place by the filter, and is easy to pull out and bang in a garbage can to clean. Disposing of the dirt, of course, is the dirtiest part of using any vacuum.A very nice design, really. For the money, I really couldn't be happier. I considered battery powered options, and for some people, that may be necessary. But you would find it very hard to find a battery powered hand held that has the power that this does. The suction that I get with this may or may not be exactly as powerful as our full sized vacuum, but practically speaking, it is. You would probably have to do some careful testing to figure out just which is stronger. For my money, it is a full sized vacuum, just shrunk down into a tiny package, with few, if any, limitations.I will echo a comment, though, that I saw on a vacuum website about this model. Although I don't think that it is really any different in size from other hand helds, it is indeed difficult to use it in small cars for vacuuming carpets, just because cars seem to have all kinds of curves and bumps that make it difficult to mimic the upright "vacuuming the floor" motion in cleaning out your car. Until they invent a head that can conform its shape to the surface, it will be so for any vacuum. I've found that in our 15 passenger van, there are plenty of large, flat carpet surfaces that this does great on. But for our smaller car, and for the curvy spots in the van, I found it easier to just pop the hose off and maneuver by hand. I don't think that this should be considered a shortcoming of this vacuum in particular. It's just hard to vacuum most any car without moving to the hose.Overall, this is one of my most satisfying purchases, on or off of Amazon. It's one of those things that you buy, and never feel that maybe you spent too much for what you got. This little vacuum is a great bargain, and a great performer.

POWER OVERWHELMING
This thing is awesome. It's portable, powerful, and intelligently designed.I bought it to specifically clean my carpeted stairs, and it does an excellent job as advertised. I've seen reviews where people say, "the suction isn't that good on rough, uneven surfaces." No crap. That's not what it's meant for, people. If you're using this to clean the inside of your car or to pick up larger sized pellets, aka. not dirt, use the hose. It'll suck up everything no problem. The thing has hella suction and is easily comparable to my standing, canister vac. Also, the hose is brilliantly positioned to fit snugly against the spine of the vac in a little groove. Basically, it won't come out during vigorous use.Regarding the weight, I'm a small dude. 5'7, 135 pounds. This thing is not heavy at all. No, at 7 pounds or whatever, it's not ideal for your frail grandmother, but that's hardly an indictment. If you planned to do your whole house with it, I guess you could become fatigued after an hour of vigorous usage... but, again, that's not what it's intended for. This is a light, supplemental cleaner that packs more power in the brush than its battery fed competitors. And for 50 dollars? It's quite a bargain unit.I can wrap the cord up in literally 5-10 seconds, no trouble at all, and it fits just about anywhere. The only MINOR gripe is that cleaning the filter off is a very messy job. I know you can buy washable filters from a third party on Amazon.ca, but I figured I'd try washing this one. It worked fine, but it's difficult to get the majority of fine dust particles out of the filter. I don't consider that worthy of dropping a star since I love this thing. I even named it Bubbles. BUBBLES!

Great suction, on the heavy side
Expect it to have some weight to it, but a well built unit. Great suction, very long chord, well designed with hose, attachment holder, and adjustable brush cover. Easily takes care of small jobs and light debris, and the brush pattern works well on fabric. Putting it to the toughest test, pet hair on fabric, and it does a fairly decent job but expect to do a number of passes. 3-4 passes picks up about 90% of the hair, and a quick finish with the hose attachment will pick up all but the last few stubborn hairs. Yes, it is a heavier unit, but the design allows you to use it without always holding it suspended. Rest it on the couch, chair, stairs, etc and slide it across to minimize tiring the arms and wrists. If holding up to use such as for curtains or furniture arms and sides, you might need to give your arm a rest after 10 minutes or so. Does not hold a lot of debris, but it is only a hand held. I can do the furniture, curtains, stairs and corners and edges once or possibly twice before emptying the canister, which is extremely easy and quick, about a 30 second job to open, dump, and put back together. This is not really made for doing carpet, but is does work if you don't mind shuffling along on your knees. Purchase extra filters when you get the unit. They will start to pill very quickly, but still work well. Best hand held I have used, the trade off for the suction power is the extra weight.

Muy poca potencia
Adquirí esta aspiradora pero la devolví puesto que su potencia es muy pobre, realmente no cumple con su función.
