Works perfectly. I used it to transfer old software to my new laptop which doesn't have a DVD drive. Easy to use, it was recognised straight away and is compatible with my old windows 10 and my new windows 11 machines. Feels sturdy, so hopefully will last a long time, and I like that it's lightweight and easy to carry around as the lead fits neatly into the back. It doesn't come with a native DVD player, so if you want to watch films or listen to music from it you'll have to install a DVD player on your machine - I have VLC player and it worked fine with that. Good value for money at under £17 at time of review.

You can definitely hear and feel it buzz while playing however it does work flawlessly and is plug and play but word to all Mac users - the inbuilt DVD Player app does not work properly and lags in the newest macOS version, but if you install VLC or other apps it works perfectly.

Very happy with this item. Using it with my 2012 Apple MacBook Pro (2012 model running macOS Catalina), which has a built in CD/DVD drive but doesn’t seem to like 3” CD Singles with an adapter. This item works great, so now I can import my 3” CD Singles into my iTunes library. Great price as well.

Easy to use just plug in and put in your dvd/cd

A cheap piece of Chinese junk. Managed after serval attempts to get the draw open with a pin in the emergency eject hole. Then guess what? Yup it just made a racket but could not read a brand new CD which worked just fine via other devices. Then guess what? Yup you guessed!! It took an age to eject and then only via the emergency small hole with a pin. If something is too cheap to be true it usually is! It is cheap for a reason and that is it is utter rubbish. Even if it worked it takes flimsy to new levels. Serves me right for believing the good reviews.

Have just burned several CDs with this using Verbatim CD-Rs and CDBurnerXP. They turned out perfectly, no issues with playback. I wanted to rip a CD of an album I can’t find anywhere online (and also make a backup copy since it’s very old) and my laptop is too new to have a CD/DVD drive so this was perfect for the job. It burns quite quickly so you don’t have to wait long, and it is relatively quiet, it makes a soft whirring sound but nothing too noisy or distracting if you’re doing other things while the disc is burning. The drive also looks quite sleek and stylish, not cheap plastic like some of the others I’ve seen, and quite slim which adds to the portability. I also tested the DVD playback with VLC Media Player and it works fine as far as I can tell. I’ve had no issues with this product so far and I’m very satisfied, I would definitely recommend it.

Seems to work well but there was a loose screw in the drive when it arrived!!

This is excellent and does everything I want it to. It was great value and there are no cons to it. I'm using it with Windows 11 Pro and it's Windows Media player for playback of Cd's.

Ein tolles externes Laufwerk. Schublade öffnet und schließt ohne zu haken. Läuft absolut fliesend. USB Stecker in das Laptop rein und schon kann es losgehen. Keine Treiber müssen gesucht oder installiert werden. Von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung an alle die ein externes Laufwerk mit Brenner brauchen.
