Black, Fine Tip Generic Refills Compatible with Livescribe 3, Aegir or Symphony pens. Smooth-Writing Premium German Ink.

One of my frustrations with my Livescribe 3 pen is the lack of ink choices. While I would prefer a gel type ink, a finer line is a welcome substitute to the standard medium point. After receiving my package, I tested all five of the refills. In my opinion they are better than the ink cartridges that came with the pen.The writing is smooth, the ink is darker, and not one skip! This appears to have also improved text recognition (with the finer line text looks clearer).

My Livescribe 3 just became my favorite pen because of this...it takes a bit of "priming" though...ink was skipping a lot when I first started using it, so just wrote for a couple of minutes on regular copy paper (not LS dotted sheets) and was smooth sailing from there. For the price and the ability to use a fine tip for notes and sketches, this was a great purchase.

Love them. I have to have fine tip ink. They do skip a bit on live scribe paper. The seller is awesome!!!!!

Did not fit in pen. Have the livescribe symphony and the ink replacement slip out .

These work PERFECTLY. I really like how smooth they write, it honestly feels smoother than the ink that came with my Symphony pen. It transmits to the app just fine as well. All around great, especially for the price.

This refill didn't work out for me. I may very well have just gotten items from a bad batch, or something, but they were skipping quite a bit. My notes for a couple of weeks included multiple instances per page where I ended up scribbling trying to get the ink flowing again.Before reviewing, I decided to try buying refills from another company (Monteverde) and also trying the Generic Refills on regular paper. I found that these were skipping for me even on regular paper, and after writing a couple of pages I've had no such problems with the Monteverde refills.It's sad because, when the refills are writing well, they're very smooth and the fine point does look quite nice. When it was writing well, I also do think the Livescribe 3 pen may have been picking up my writing even a little more nicely than it did with the OEM refill. I just don't like them in the end because they caused a lot of frustrating. Having to stop and get my pen working again every few sentences wasn't doing me any favors when it came to concentrating on what I was trying to learn.I'm going with 3 stars ("It's okay") both because they worked very nicely when they did work, and because they're gracious enough to offer refunds when the product doesn't work out. There are also enough people here saying that theirs worked fine that I really do wonder if I might have just gotten a packet that had dried out somewhat. Anyway, I'll be requesting a refund for myself. I might revisit this and give them another chance when the Monteverde refills run out and Amazon will (hopefully) have a different batch in stock without the heavy skipping.

The ink is a nice rich blue color and the refills fit my pen perfectly. Unfortunately I've been writing with the refills for a couple of hours and about 25% of the time, it doesn't put any ink on the paper. I've tried multiple refills from multiple colors. I use my pen during some pretty time critical work and these aren't going to work. I'll keep them for taking notes at home or something because they're so cheap, but I won't be purchasing them again.
