I am a big fan of private label products but boy did I get burned not going with the #1 brand - 3M for the standby blue painters tape. The main issue is that the tape splits vertically while trying to peel off a section. So what starts as a 1.4" width immediately tears into various widths as you start to pull the tape of the roll. In some pulls, the 1 pull tore into 3 sections/pieces. It is very, very hard to get a good start on the initial pull without tearing vertically. Not horizontally as if to tear after peeling off a desired length- the tearing and splits occur vertically.Never again. 3M or nothing for blue painters tape.

I bought this a year ago, and used some the other day and couldn't pull more than a few inches without the tape splitting. I was surprised for a 3M product, then looked and saw that it wasn't 3M. The edge seals when latex paint hits it, so they claim--and they are right!

I had to caulk between the base boards and hard wood floors, due to major gaps and subsequent drafts coming into my apartment. These were slightly wider than normal painter's tape, so as I glided the caulk smooth between the baseboards and hardwood floors, the tape provided additional protection.Tip: In regards to the task, the access caulking should be wiped towards the wall, not the hard wood. This ensures you have a smoother/finer finish on the floors, whereas the finish on a wall is not as evident or important. You can clean the wall a lot easier than a hardwood floor, which might have more cracks/gaps within the wood fibers/textures. Either way, you should always use painter's tape and simply peel it off before the caulk completely dries.

I am spending way too much money on name brand blue tape for a painting project so I bought this to try given the price point. It works great. So glad I bought them and will continue to use it in the future for my paint job. Also, it doesn’t leave any adhesive residues.

This tape is a great value. When taping for painting, it sticks better than scotch tape, and does not leave a residue. We tried both Scotch and Bates tape on the windows and doors outdoors before painting. Frequently, the scotch tape pulled away, and had to be re-taped before painting.

Not as good that’s quality as some of the more expensive name brand’s. But for what I needed to take for it works perfect I am not a professional painter and I’m just using it to paint the bathroom

I was doing a lot of painting in our house and I decided to try some different tapes because other brands were so expensive. I can honestly say I would purchase this tape again and again. More for your money and it works just as good if not better as other brands.

It is impossible to remove once you put them on any surface! Terrible product.i spent more time taking the tape off than painting!Do not buy it. You will REGRET IT.
