55 Gallon White Plastic Barrel | Solid Mold |2 Inch Bung Holes

The lid doesn't come off. However there are pretty good instructions on YouTube how to cut circle holes into the top and insert a flange with spigot to turn this into a nice rain barrel. I'll be at to do that it would take a jigsaw and circular screw bit to make the hole for the spigot. And you'd need the washer to prevent leakage at the base where the faucet will be. But there's a really helpful YouTube video on how to do this and it worked out for my purpose.

Exactly what I need if/when my water service gets disconnected.

I had to cancel the order, ordered two barrels, sent one barrel from home depot "blemished inside of barrel with a liquid black stain" and the other barrel is out of stock

I bought 2 and after delivery I thoroughly rinsed both with 2/1 water and bleach. After letting stand and dry for a week they both still have a chemical odor to them. They are supposed to be unused but I can't understand the stubborn smell. I am using one to hold RO/DI water and the other for fresh made salt water for aquarium. I am worried the water will be contaminated and unsafe to use. The barrels are great, solid and fittings screw tight, no leaks... perfect to what I was looking for at a good price. How do I verify if these barrels were never used to store anything prior?

I like it,,but outside barrel was dirty

I received my barrel, it was vary clean. But it had holes drilled in the top corners. I bought it to store watering. It’s worthless. When I ordered it, nowhere did it say it was drilled ( would have ordered it ) So I highly recommend DO NOT ORDER THIS! A total waste of a $100
