7 Khoon Maaf

Vishal Bharadwaj's 7 KHOON MAAF is simpler when compared with his previous film KAMINEY, but getting into the intricacies would mean giving away the entire thing. He gets on with the story and doesn't waste any time in establishing the characters. We get to know more about the characters as the story progresses. The narrative is intriguing and slowly grows on you. It makes you wonder, what would you do if you were in Susanna's shoes.Vishal veer's away from showing anything gory. Of all the tracks, the Wasiullah Khan part stands out and is most outrageous. The film gets a bit predictable after a while but the engaging screenplay makes sure that there aren't any dull moments. The gradual ageing of Susanna from a 20 to 65 year-old is deftly shownt's not easy to play a character spread across 35 years and Priyanka Chopra does that with immense conviction and confidence. She's a complete charmer and establishes her acting prowess. Vivaan Shah makes a very impressive debut. He's surely a talent to watch for. Neil Nitin Mukesh acts well but his good looks go against his otherwise stern character. John Abraham is underutilised. Irrfan Khan is outstanding as the poet. Watch out for the scene in which he slaps Priyanka. Anu Kapoor acts really well. Naseeruddin Shah is excellent. Aleksandr Dyachenko is passable and looks funny when he speaks Hindi. Ruskin Bond's cameo is okay.A captivating story and excellent performances make 7 KHOON MAAF a bloody good film. Make sure you attend the weddings.

How this movie didn't do much better with audiences and critics is beyond me. The story, cinematography, editing, look and feel, everything about is just amazing. This should be your first Bollywood movie, otherwise you might get the wrong impression. It's darker than most Hindi movies, and a lot less "cheesy". There are some songs (almost mandatory in Bollywood movies) but they aren't the cheesy song-and-dance type and actually fit well into the story.This was my first Priyanka Chopra movie and I'm in love with her ever since. Her acting skills have come a long way and she truly shines in 7 Khoon Maaf. It had to because she can't rely solely on her beauty in this movie: the usually drop dead gorgeous Priyanka transforms into an older, portlier version of her character over the course of the film, because the story spans over many years. It begins with her in her early 20s (love!) and ends with...well, you gotta see it.Catch it on Netflix streaming first if you're unsure. You'll come back here and buy it to put it in your treasure box.

My foray into Bollywood is solely fueled by my newfound obsession with Priyanka Chopra - whom I discovered on Netflix while watching "Mary Kom". She landed the hit American Television series "Quantico" shortly after I had seen "Mary Kom" - so I knew I had just discovered an amazing new star.She again shows a new side to her depth in "7 Khoon Maaf"; I was not disappointed. She and her unlikely group of misfits become a frighteningly efficient killing machine to the unfortunate men who have the bad luck to marry - and cross her. It is well within Priyanka's grasp to portray such a thoughtful and cold-blooded killer.I am excited to see much more from her - and from Bollywood in general as well.

this movie is the best movie i have seen in a long time.very good story.the actingwas superb the first scene alone captures so have to see what happens Pryanka is absolutely wonderful.and the rest of the cast is great,i give this movie a five rating.and would recommend it highly

Bollywood at its best. Fantastic acting. A real thriller. Kept me riveted to my seat. A thinking person's movie. Priyanka Chopra has always been a great actor IMO. This film can compete with any US thriller anytime.Buy this movie!

I first watched this movie on Netflix and found it so good that I had to own it. Its funny yet dark at times and has a twist in the end that you'll never see coming!

I normally hate Bollywood movies and I've given every Bollywood that I have watched 1 star. However, this movie really surprised me and truly is deserving of 5 stars.

Not very realistic in an Indian setting but Priyanka looks very yummy. With minimal makeup and looking her natural dark-complexioned girl, and looking a little old when portrayed as aging, Priyanka does not seem unwilling to take risks. Enjoyable for viewers who like non-traditional movies.

It was not as well put together as I'd hoped. Priyanka Chopra has done a decent job but she can do better. One doesn't get bored but it leaves an incomplete kind of feeling, specially the end.
