I have been putting-up with the poor design, and cost cutting engineering of Malibu and Hampton Bay lighting for years. Glad to have discovered the Leonlite 5W LED fixtures - a very impressive product at a very good price. Metal construction throughout, appears to be quality weatherproof assembly, good color robust lightly textured finish, long line cord for easy placement and aiming of the fixture. And, perhaps the most important, the excellent design of the wire connector. Not perfect, but miles ahead of the impossible puzzle of a connector that Malibu and Hampton Bay feature. You can attach the connector with one hand - no impossible threading of connector guides into each other. No need to have the strength of a blacksmith to close the connector to make contact. The light on these LED fixtures tends to be a bit too bright in the center of the beam, but this is common with LED lights. The light is bright, clear, not too cool in color, no more replacing those annoying bi pin halogen bulbs every two months.I've only had these running for about a month, but I don't expect to be disappointed.

These are much nicer than I expected. For some reason, I didn't realize the clips were included but they are and are high quality. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the lights are not too bright and bathe the front of our home and landscaping in a very warm and well-distributed light. The lights were a bit smaller than expected which is a plus. I was thinking about my old set which were larger, clunkier and black. These are a beautiful powder coated grayish brown which look much more expensive than these were.Be patient when connecting and make sure the wire is flat in the bracket before compressing as shown in the diagram. Don't give up if the light doesn't immediately illuminate. Be sure you have a good connection with the wire piercing prongs and also be sure the two clamps holding the lead wires are tight and the wires are fully inserted.I also like the long lengths of the lead wires. Allows for a lot of flexibility. The leads on my old set were only about a foot long.I recently upgraded keeping my old reliable Malibu transformer which was originally for an incandescent set. Over time replaced the lights with LEDs and this is my second set of LEDs as the old ones became damaged and mismatched over the years.Be sure if you are retrofitting that your old wire is still pliable to allow the connector prongs to easily penetrate the insulation. I tossed my old wire (14 yrs old as it had become quite hard and brittle) and replaced with new from Amazon - pretty inexpensive upgrade overall. Very pleased with result. Would highly recommend this light set.

I have been installing outdoor lighting at my homes since 2002. Malibu products are sturdy and reliable, and I have several lamps and transformers that are well over a decade old and still working. But as they need to be replaced I started looking for an acceptable LED alternative. I was very disappointed as most LED's were way too white, and when matched with my existing lights they stood out as stark and cold.These LeonLites are the perfect color temperature... warm and inviting and matching my old-school halogen bulbs. Last night I replaced 6 halogen fixtures, going from 25 watts per to 5 watts per, an immediate savings of 120 watts per night! The light is exactly the same as before, the flood pattern identical to my exisiting lamps.Installation is a snap as the connectors really are simple to use... the Malibu ones, while effective, were a pain in the fingers to get just right and lock in, and were a real pain if you had to undo them and reposition the connector. Not these LeonLite connectors! They are well thought-out and perfectly executed...just pop in the lamp wires, click them in, and open the jaws to place on your transformer wires.....literally less than 15 seconds per lamp.I'm going to investigate replacing my walkway lamps with LeonLites...

I researched for a while before settling on these lights from Torchstar and couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I was concerned about ‘getting what you pay for’, but after receiving these lights, I was impressed with the clean metal construction and good paint/powder coat(?) that practically disappears in the landscaping during the day. Real glass lens with thick silicone seal with good compression seems like it will be weather proof for a long time.The 3000k color and brightness is absolutely perfect for the look I was going for — lights give a very nice ambience to the front of our house without being over bright/glaring or bluish daylight LED color. The attached picture doesn’t really do it justice for how nice the lighting looks in person.Wiring these has been one of the easiest projects I’ve done on the house. I used a Malibu 200W transformer with these 8 lights, which is more than required, but I may add path lighting in the future.Last but not least was the great customer service. I did have one light with a minor problem; torchstar answered my email inquiry quickly and was proactive in replacing the light immediately.The lights have been in place for about two weeks, so we’ll see how they hold up. But so far so good, and the irrigation gives them a good soaking almost daily.Overall couldn’t be happier.
