Perfect match for the broken timing dial on my dryer
It was Sunday when I took a large load out of the washing machine and put it in my Hotpoint Dryer. I turned the timing dial around to bring it back to the right position for the load and heard and felt a little tiny snap sound from inside. And then the timing dial just spun around, without making the normal clicking sound as it goes past the seldom used positions all the way to position I normally use for most of my laundry. I still closed the door and pushed the "start button" but nothing happened. I turned the dial again a couple times, but it had stopped engagin with the timer and would not start because the timer was still actually set on "off" position. You know those times in your life when everything has been going wrong for so long that JUST ONE MORE little thing is the straw that breaks the camel's back? Well I was about there at that point with a full load of wet clothes in the dryer and a broken part on a very old (over twenty years) dryer. I first went to research how to pull the knob/dial off without doing more damage, and found that was very simple, just grab it and pull it straight out...or use pliers if you can't get a strong enough grip. I did that and then saw that the part that engaged with the shaft of the actual timer had two very tiny cracks in it and that loosened it just enough so that it was spinning free of the timer. Next problem find a replacement FAST. I use the dryer a lot and especially at the moment when I am trying to get "spring cleaning" done and also sorting out things that I want to take for donations, that need to be washed and dried before they are acceptable. You know those days where one more little thing that goes wrong can seem to ruin your life? You know what cures that? The one little thing that goes right, at just the right time, in just the right place. I found that one little thing that went completely right on Sunday afternoon. It was the BlueStars Dryer Timer Control knob ....with upgraded metal ring, no less (lack of which is probably why those two little cracks made my timer control no longer workable). My Hotpoint dryer model number was listed as being "compatible". I ordered it Sunday, it was delivered Tuesday morning, just as promised, and it was on my dryer as soon as I could get the package open. Just slid on without any problem, and the pointer even lined up perfectly with the original knob. I had seen some reviews with different model numbers say and show that it fit and worked but the pointer was not in the right position, so they marked a new pointer on the replacement dial. But on my dryer it was a PERFECT MATCH. I would have been ecstatic even if it pointed the wrong way at that point. Yes, I definitely recommend.

Fits perfectly,exact replacement
Timer fit perfectly and is working like new. The included knob is reinforced with a metal band so it will probably never break. Highly satisfied with the timer and got it before the predicted date.

Have to replace it yearly
Trash. This is the size that fits my dryer and was the original piece on it. Now Iโm ordering the 4th one in 4 years as my dryer wonโt spin again. Looked at purchase history and itโs exactly a year between each purchase. So youโve got a year for $7 dollars which isnโt a big deal but you gotta deal with the hassle that your dryer wonโt work again until it arrives and not know for sure if this is the problem but it almost certainly is, just like last time. At least in my case.

Planned obsolescence?
I had to replace this knob on my dryer when it cracked. I ordered this some time ago until it stopped working. Foolishly, perhaps, I bought another. I couldn't determine what was wrong either time. The socket, after all, was banded with a steel ring. When this second one stopped working, I again searched for some reasons and as before was unable to determine a flaw. I did, however, take a pair of channel locks and pressed the band down on to the flat part of the socket and lo and behold, it works

Clever hack to replace an obsolete/unavailable Kenmore/Westinghouse Dryer Timer Control Knob
The timer control knob on my ancient (circa 1981) electric Kenmore Dryer finally fatigued after 45 years! And...the correct replacement part (Kenmore 688865 or Westinghouse IM654) is no longer available (trust me...not on Amazon, eBay, or thru a half-dozen parts suppliers). I love this dryer because it is simple: a hefty motor, a belt, a rotating drum, a heating element, two switches and the control knob. No circuit boards, just a temperature/humidity sensor. And I was not ready to replace the dryer with a piece of imported junk that has no chance of a 20-year lifespan, much less 45 years. So, here's a hack using the WE1M652 timer control knob which fits the Kenmore D-shaft perfectly, though the arrow doesn't line up correctly. See picture below - a little white-out to disguise the original arrow, and a new arrow, courtesy of a black Sharpie. Works perfectly, and I'm guessing it will outlive me. Hopefully this review will help someone else resuscitate an old, but reliable piece of machinery. And save well over $500! Oh, and BlueStars shipped rapidly...thanks!

Oops I have the wrong one
I think I got the wrong size as they donโt fit for my portable black and decker dryer. I have a plan to use them as a Christmas ornament for an home repair theme after I bedazzle them. Looks easy to install if they are compatible or need a replacement for the right dryer or washer but does not work for a black and decker dryer as it need to have a longer connection on the back.

Great fit
I had bought another replacement knob and right after I put it on I knew it wouldnโt last long because it was loose. The replacement knob I got from here has a tight fit, so much better. I will buy from here again thank you!

Does what it supposed to but might need a modification.
Good remplacement for my broken knob, for my dryer type the arrow showed the opposite of what it was supposed to be. Used acetone to remove it and made a new one myself. Despite that it feels sturdier then the original one was before it broke.
