"From the beloved, New York Times bestselling author of Migrations and Once There Were Wolves, a novel about a family living alone on a remote island, when a mysterious woman washes up on shore"-- Review: Review of book and the product - The book arrived in perfect condition, the pages and the print quality is optimal. The cover is quiet study. I have posted it after I read the book, it's a excellent quick read. The writing is cinematic and covers aspects of ecology and saving the environment. The isolated island gives a mysterious sensation, it adds to up the cliffhanger between the characters POV. Review: 5 stars! - Excellent read. A real page turner.

Complexity of grief / resilience
Wow. What a read! This book is about love and, therefore, about grief. We grief because we love what has been lost or is anticipated being lost. This book is about how grief impacts the land and the animals. It's a book about parenting and being a child and parentification. The choice to have children, or not, in a seemingly vanishing world. It's a book about how grief can shape beauty or destruction, can lead us into deeper connection or madness. How we learn and how we teach grieving. It's about family. It's about sacrifice. It's about facts and what is true. It's about resilience. It's about impossible choices about what is needed. And the motivation to do so. The setting of the story is breathtaking. Charlotte McConaghy distills essence from the complexity of grief. Although parts of the book were heartbreaking (of course!) and others were bleak, the story leaves me in awe of life.

All the Stars , a special atmospheric read!!
🔥 Book Review 🔥 What can I say about this book that hasn’t already been said and without giving it away ? This Book will sit with me until I’m embedded in the ground😭 Wild Dark Shores is like no other , my highlighter was on fire annotating almost every single word . “But here is the nature of life . That we must love things with our whole selves , knowing they will die .” This book broke me in so many ways , I finished this 24hours ago and I’m still bleeding inside , I can’t let this story go , it’s haunting me . The writing was so vivid and beautifully written with so much depth , fantastic character development and a rawness that made it feel so real . I felt every breath, I felt every splash 💦 of a wave , and the wind in my hair and taste salt on my lips .The writing was atmospheric and it was so sad and haunting but yet so beautiful at the same time . I have never loved so many characters at once and I liked that even though the characters changed overtime they still stayed true to who they were . “But she isn’t frightened of the dead.It is only the living who have the power to harm .” I did this as a buddy read with two amazing women I made on Bookstagram and even though we are separated by oceans it’s the pages that keep us together & connected and I was so grateful to have them to lean on while we wept together 🫶🏼🖤 Thank you for sharing this read with me ladies @juliereads_alot @nikkileethrillseeker I’m thankful for our friendship 🩷 Please go show their pages some Love ❤️ @charlottemcconaghy Thank you for this beautiful gift you have written for the world , this book deserves All the stars ⭐️ If you like unique, mysterious, lyrical prose , compelling stories & characters with so much depth and will break your F’n heart then add this to your TBR and if you don’t cry then your not from this world your not human . In the story Vancouver Island is mentioned so I chose this photo I took from on top of a cliff on Day 2 of hiking the West Coast Trail and when I saw this view I said “ This is why I’m here “ it was a beautiful moment in time 🩵 Gazillion Stars ⭐️

Thrilling and stunning
What a beautiful book Charlotte McConaghy has written. I will recommend this to friends and family forever. How she managed to combine a thriller with a literary fiction is astounding, I was honestly on the edge of my seat the whole way through. The setting, the characters, the wildness and emotions of this book are truly one of a kind. I was swept away on this thrilling, heartbreaking journey and I will never recover from it. I’ve also been sent into a deep rabbit hole researching all things to do with seed vaults and conservation. A fantastic book that everyone should read
