Great product
We use this product to make foam swords out of for a medieval recreation group. It is getting harder and harder to find this here in Southern New England, but Amazon always has it.This product fits our purpose perfectly. Easy to cut, easy to work with, and the thickness is perfect for our safety rules.

Fool proof, great quality.
Never buy the partially split insulation unless you want to triple the work and do a lot of taping. These are fully split with yellow plastic separators attached to each split side of glue. Install the tube over your pipe FIRST. Then pull the two plastic guards at the same time while pushing the two sticky faces of the cut foam together. Once pushed together, don't plan on separating them. They are permanently glued. I am building a home with a circular recycle loop of hot water with a small pump that runs 24/7. (Cost is a few pennies a day) Each faucet/shower/etc. tees off of the large loop line with a 1/2 inch PEX. The loop stays HOT. The foam insulation helps keep the off-loop short lines hot between uses. Without foam, 2-3 sec max waiting for hot water. With foam, 0-1 second wait. This system is lot less expensive than an instant hot heater at each station. (Huge savings in set-up plus a small fraction of the monthly cost to use.) This will be our second house with a hot water loop and we loved it in the first. The hot water returns to water heaters through the cold water intake at the heaters.

useful product
I purchased this product because I have a really nice desk chair that has hard wood arms unlike the seat & the back of the chair. The chair arms were so uncomfortable it was hard to sit in it for more than 30 minutes.I cut pieces of this tubing wrapped them around the arms which did not fit completely so I took some plastic ties and wrapped them around the tubing.WOW it's a whole new chair !

New plumbing added
All of my pipes 1/2 & 3/4 inch are covered in this product. We did a major master bathroom showerRenovation. Moved in wall plumbing to crawl space and needed to match all other pipe coverings.Great product shame it’s not available locally any more. Found this on Amazon, slightly pricey but completes look of other coverings.Very easy to use, pre-slit then Press and slide onto pipe, then pull both yellow ribbons one at a time and it sticks together. To seal around the pipe. Easy to cut with a bread type knife. Great r value

Same cheap insulation
Thought this would be much better than the super cheap foam that the big hardware stores sell. It is not. It is the exact same lightweight foam insulation, even though this is four times the price.

Very good pipe insulation - worth money & effort
This is a very good pipe insulation. This is one of the thickest (5/8-inch) and highest R-rated insulation that I could find in the market. Price is much lower than the local store prices. I prefer the tan color too than the typical black color. This item works for 1/2-inch copper pipes, i.e., pipe outer diamter 5/8-inch, inner diamter 1/2-inch.All the money and the effort is well worth. It is no fun going in the crawlspace of the house and install it, but sure it was worth. In the cold days hot water in the pipe gets cold in as little as 5 minutes after use. Every time you have to let the water run until the hot water reaches from the water heater to the faucet. So much of water waste and energy waste. Installing a recirculating pump is not a great idea for tankless water heaters becaus it beats the concept on-demand heating. After installing the pipe insulation water stays warm in the pipe even after 30 minutes or an hour. Water in the pipe may not be hot after some time, but it is still warm and usable.

Good Insulation!
I recently installed a hot water recirculating pump system in my home and wanted to insulate the hot water pipes to try and save some energy in staggering the pumps running schedule. I figured by insulating the pipes the water would stay hot a lot longer in between the pump running and therefore would save some electricity. This insulation was extremely easy to install and thicker than other brands I had seen in the neighborhood "Big Box" stores. The self-sealing adhesive worked great and overall was a painless installation experience.

They work but not in southwest, decomposes within year of use.
They work great but the pricing is high versus the decomposition of insulation. I've used this in the southwest for fridge winter nights but the sun's rays destroys the materials within one year. Recommend using something to protect tubes from the elements.
