Rethinking Mary in the New Testament: What the Bible Tells Us about the Mother of the Messiah

Very rich description and in-depth discussion of Mary's encounter with the angel Gabriel and her cousin Elizabeth. I'm a lifelong protestant but I was taken aback at the great detail and connections to all of scripture through Luke's account. Well worth the read, I took my time and did a chapter a day for a while.

Extremely well researched and written offering insights not found in similar works. A wonderful study. Cannot recommend more highly.

I enjoyed reading this so much have given this as gift and gifted my book. I will need to buy myself another as my book on loan has not returned and I want to read again.

I'm a recent convert to Catholic church. I used to be a Protestant and had many questions about how all the Marian dogma was started and what the biblical references were. In this book by Edward Sri he explains where and how it started and what the Bible says about it. Well worth the time and price.

I was amazed at the number of footnotes and research that went into this book. Sri compares his research with many other authors . An excellent book on Mary and the New Testament.

We use this at Bible study in our church. Good one!

The book explains in clearly understandable terms who Mary was and why we should pay attention to what scripture tells us about her. Eward Sri is a truly wonderful author.
