Barbarian Queen

One of the better low budget films that I have ever seen. The editing is fabulous. Worth watching just for that. I dig the “Totally Eighties” kitsch! Film art is a tough medium to bring to fruition. Therefore, I am going to give this film an “A” for effort. It was fun to watch. Viewing Bonus: The chicks are effin hot!

weak plot, horrible script, mostly bad acting, fight scenes are mostly people trying to hit each other's stick / sword / whatever instead of fightingon the plus side, some funny scenes and LOTS of attractive naked girls gratuitously running around

What can I say? I saw this movie as a teen in the 80's and fell in love with lana clarkson. When I saw it was on dvd I absolutely had to have it. I don't regret it either. It's actually a great film. It's at most as good as the delaurentis films of that era and at worst as good as the new conan film with mr momoa.If you love barbarian films of the 80's and you like TnA then this film belongs in your collection.O the leading ladies do kick ass in this feature. = )

You name it, from acting to costume to plot, if you call the idea a plot, looks like a middle school play save for the partial nudity which is irrelevant to the story. Whatever that is.

Lana Clarkson was a true sream queen in the early 80's. Making fantasy and adventure films we enjoy. And R.I.P. and condolence to her family. One of her best performance. Great movie.

In Argentina during 1985, Aires Cinematografica Argentina and Rodeo Products released a 71 minute romp of T & A called "Barbarian Queen" with Lana Clarkson, Katt Shea, Dawn Dunlap, Susana Traverso, Andrea Barbieri, Andrea Scriven, Matilde Mur, and Lucy Tiller. I imagine a few women would enjoy Frank Zagarino in this film, also. But predominantly, it isn't the sword fighting, it isn't the sets, and it isn't the thespian skills that kept me watching. The language for the film is English, but that isn't important for this genre. The story is a raid on a village where survivors are made into slaves, and ultimately back at the castle those slaves and other slaves unite in overthrowing the warlord. There's raping and pillaging, and some hut burning too. Lana Clarkson has appeared in many TV hits of the 1970's and 1980's, as well as her fair share of movies. I like her best in this R-rated film for obvious reasons, as the "Barbarian Queen." Some of the gore and some of the exploitation has been edited, but there's enough here to be worth having.

Granted there are MANY terrible men in the world...but not all are as gay looking the Groom to be and also not as bad as all the others in this TERRIBLE waste of time .

Not high art, but fun if you know what you’re getting into.

Barbarian Queen, toller Film der auch heute noch was her macht. Sehr schön ihn endlich mal uncut zu sehen.

In un pacifico villaggio fervono i preparativi per un matrimonio, ma dei soldati cattivi comandati da un signore cattivo interrompono la festa massacrando e facendo prigionieri. Ma la nostra protagonista, che è anche la sposa, riesce a salvarsi, e insieme ad altre due superstiti, impugna la spada e parte per salvare i prigionieri, tra cui la sorella e lo sposo.Film dalla trama semplice e con poco budget, ma se amate il genere fantasy barbaro che nacque e morì (purtroppo) negli anni '80 lo adorerete.Edizione fantastica, con all'interno foto e curiosità sul film ed attori, ma purtroppo tutto in tedesco. Presente sia il DVD che il Blu-ray, ma purtroppo entrambi hanno solo il parlato in inglese e tedesco, assenti i sottotitoli. Ma la trama non è complicata, e basta una base di inglese per comprendere le conversazioni, e spesso le immagini parlano da sole.Raccomandato.

if films that proudly display rocks the size of juggernauts bouncing about like tennis balls and several tons of Roman columns bending in the breeze and landing on folk with no apparent effect; acting that is hard to describe as such and women of the historical period of the Roman Empire proudly displaying their breast implants, then this is for you. Great Sunday afternoon entertainment of the less taxing and comical kind.

Zunächst möchte ich anmerken, dass sich meine Rezension auf die seit 11.12.2020 erhältliche „Barbarian Queen - Uncut limited Mediabook-Edition (Blu-ray und DVD)“ bezieht.Der genaue Inhalt von „Barbarian Queen“ aus dem Jahr 1985 ist ja bereits unter „Rezensionen“ bei Amazon ausführlich beschrieben. Mehr an Story gibt es auch nicht, außer dass zum Schluss der Aufstand gegen den tyrannischen König natürlich erfolgreich ist. Mir hat dieser Fantasy-Trash-Film gut gefallen, auch wenn er nicht ganz so gut ist wie beiden „Gor“ und „Deathstalker“ – Filme.Die kaum vorhandene Handlung dient – wie bei den anderen genannten Filmen - vor allem dazu, hübsch anzusehende und leicht bekleidete Frauen zu zeigen, allen voran natürlich Lana Clarkson, Katt Shea und Dawn Dunlop. Die einzelne Kämpfe, auch die „Gladiatoren-Kämpfe“ und der End-Kampf zwischen den Soldaten des Königs und den Rebellen sind keinesfalls von solch einer Härte wie z. B. bei „Conan“.Jetzt vielleicht zum Wichtigsten für diejenigen, die den Film bereits kennen bzw. auf einer alten DVD haben:Die Bildqualität von „Barbarian Queen“ in der „R-Rated-Fassung“ (Laufzeit 71 Minuten und 31 Sekunden; 1:11.31) auf der Blu-ray im anamorphen Breitbild-Format 1.85:1 ist wirklich gut bis sehr gut für diesen doch schon 35 Jahre alten Film. Das Bild ist sehr sauber und klar. Die Schärfe ist gut bis teilweise sehr gut. Auch die Tonqualität ist sehr gut. Es sind nur ganz selten leichte Verschmutzungen („Längsstreifen“) zu sehen. Dies ändert jedoch nichts am sehr guten Gesamteindruck. Die Bildqualität der DVD ist ebenfalls sehr gut, aber nicht ganz so „gestochen“ scharf wie die HD-Fassung auf der Blu-ray.Auf beiden Scheiben sind als Extras zwei Trailer zum Film sowie eine Artworkgalerie enthalten.Außerdem ist auf beiden Schieben auch die „Unrated-Fassung“ drauf, hier bezeichnet als „Integralfassung“ (Laufzeit auf der Blu-ray 74 Minuten und 43 Sekunden; 1:14.43).In diese Fassung sind in die o. g. anamorphe Fassung (im Breitbild-Format 1.85:1) einige Szenen, darunter etwas Handlung, einige Gewaltspitzen und Nacktszenen eingefügt worden, allerdings in schlechterer Bildqualität und im Vollbildformat 1.33:1, d. h. es wechselt des Öfteren das Bildformat und die Bildqualität.Das gut verarbeitete Mediabook ist sehr ansprechend und informativ. Der rote FSK 18 - Flatschen ist nur auf der Plastikschutzfolie angebracht. Sowohl die Blu-ray als auch die DVD sind aber etwas schwer aus der Halterung zu bekommen. Hier also aufpassen, dass die Scheiben nicht versehentlich in Mitleidenschaft gezogen werden.Insgesamt nach meiner Bewertung 4 Sterne für „Barbarian Queen - Uncut limited Mediabook-Edition“. Freunde von anspruchsvollen Filmen sollten aber lieber einen Bogen um diesen Film machen.

Als ich mir die beiden Teile heute reinzog, fiel mir unwillkürlich Winnetou ein - nicht nur wegen Pfeil und Bogen, sondern auch wegen der Landschaften. Okay - Pierre Brice, Lex Barker und Marie Versini haben schauspielerisch mehr geboten (vielleicht wegen des Regisseurs!). Aber so lustige Chaoten wir Sam Hawkins habe ich auch in diesem Film vorgefunden!
