Not for me
This was really not for me, too much film of the back of peoples head and a lack of detail on certain things.

Hayley Atwell is a good actor
It shows what policing and society was like in the sixties.

THE PRICE OF SUCCESS ?
An intriguing tale on the rise and fall and rise again on a policewoman following the style of her father in the force. Her determination to be as successful totally ruined her own family life. Well put together and well worth watching.

... a different time in the main character's life was pretty original, and I thoroughly enjoyed Life of Crime
The format of each episode being from a different time in the main character's life was pretty original, and I thoroughly enjoyed Life of Crime.

Excellent series spoiled by video quality/mastering problems in third episode
Excellent series spoiled by video quality/mastering problems in third episode. Ghosting images ruined viewing. This sort of mistake should have been picked up. Mind you, the DVD arrived by post rattling in its case with the surface consequently marred by extensive scuffing. Suspect the two piece plastic spindle design (not the type usually found) at fault.

Needs a Doctors Rx for soporifics.
Sadly disappointing. I like Ms.Atwell as a general rule and I am generally a fan of Brit police procedurals. However this one is a "snoozer". BORING, and weak as water in all of the basic needs for a successful presentation. Story.Acting.Direction. Production values,…ALL below the acceptable mark. Oh well. Into the rubbish box it gos. Too bad.
